@@fatimamolinaro8878 Blss your heart. I have fought with addictions for my entire life. Right back as long as I can remember. My parents and the rest of this great` blue ball in space really didn't know how to deal with it in anyone that young to deal with it. I loved it when dad would light a cigarett when we were in the car and when my grandad gave me my first beer because I out fished all the other men in the boat I was right on with that stuff big time and would steal it everytime I had theopportunity. On into my teens came acid, mda, heroin, Lots and lots of weed ( I still take part in and of course any kind of alcoholl that I still fight the battle with.) The pot and the beer I can manage to a more or less win over. Each and every day is a test. NOW I am fighting bladder cancer. Some of us just can't get a break but After 85 and growing surgerys I just plain give up. The only thing that can make this existance better should give me the break I really would like to hapen would be a new thing called MAID. I await that day and understand the need to go there but for now I am pouring siler to make folks happy and feel good. That is the best pill out there times 10. I feel for you and I have a channel here what I do with silver and would love to have you stop by for a visit my friend ! It is great you reached out today. Luv ya !

I am 68, and it's been 4 months since my wife passed from cancer, and it has left me lost. I can't seem to get my bearing. At my age, I don't have much of anything to offer, so when someone says, hold on, don't give up, why would that apply to me? I eat every other day, I'm back to working 5days a week, I have no life, and deth for me is one step away! So for me, this song acknowledges that loss is real, and some are crushed by the weight of its pain. I love the song!
@julieugo44072 жыл бұрын
Oh Arthur, you don't have to get your bearings yet, it's only been 4 months since you lost your wife.. you have alot to offer but the time is not right for moving on yet for you, everyone has their own pace.. sadness is a terrible thing and I understand absolutely about not wanting to be here any longer, different circumstances but pain is pain.. I think it's harder as we get older, I'm 64 and when I feel like letting go....... I listen to this sometimes 6, 7, 8 times in a row, loud, I cry, I get angry, I get terribly sad but I keep playing it until it clicks........Hold On 💗

So Sorry to hear about your loss. No words can ever bring comfort to your broken heart. But, Because You loved your wife so sincerely, it shows that you Love passionately. That means you have LOVE in your heart that you can give to someone who is going through the same feelings like yours about their loss of a loved one. Look for that someone and share your Beautiful Love. Talk to a friend when you hurt. Sometimes it helps. Prayer can also be helpful. May Jehovah God comfort you. 🤟

I'm so sorry for your loss! I'm here because my poor momma is in the hospital dying of stage 4 lung cancer! She has been , as of today only days to live , and I don't mean to sound rude , but today I'm grateful for her to be finally be ready , and emotionally and mentally she is more then ready to be free of her old and aching earthly body! We've talked about the end on many , many occasions as I have been her sole caretaker for the last 3 and 1/2 years and belive me when I say I would do it all over again even though it was the single most difficult thing I've ever signed up for in my entire life! The time I spent looking after her and the memories I alone will have , man you can't buy that kind of time!! Helping her to mentally and emotionally prepare for her final journey was a once in a lifetime trip, I just hope and pray someone is there for me when its my time to transition!! The thing that is bothering me the most right now is that she can't have 1 visitor to see her and she really has got to do this all alone because of covid restrictions!! If I had known I wouldn't have allowed them to admit her , I would have and should have just brought her home so I could hold her as she takes her last breath as she held me when I breathed my 1st breath!! Again I'm sorry for your loss!! Much love , kindness and compassion to you and yours at this difficult moment!

He was the bravest, most real, and genuine person I ever met. The ultimate care giver. And after all of it, covid is what finally took him one day short of his 66th birthday. We had a simple ash scattering ceremony over Mobile Bay, and this song was playing. I couldn't ask for a better friend as we were growing up together. I love you Ric. I came into this life almost 69 years ago, fighting, crying, screaming and I intend to go out the same way!!!! You MUST endure the bad times because that makes the GREAT times that much better! We are all human beings, we all have felt pain, disappointment, loss, but all of us have also experienced the warmth of the sun, the beautiful view of a sunrise/sunset, heard the waves rushing in, rushing out, happy laughter, the thrill of a roller coaster, watching a child grow & discover, the excitement of that first love… Over my almost 69 yrs on this earth, looking back, I wouldn’t have changed a thing, good or bad because it all made me the loving, compassionate, person I strive to be EVERY DAY I have left! Every challenge, every adversity just makes me that much stronger to face the next challenge/adversity! You MUST BE STRONG to ride this roller coaster called LIFE! If I live to be 100+, my life will still seem too short! Love each day to its fullest, as it may be your last! When God calls, you have to answer that phone! ENJOY!

They do. This song is about suicide. It's about seeking the help you need if you're down. Last year I took an overdose and nearly died 3 times and rang my sister who is a nurse who told me off alot and thought I was ok and gave me food and drink to combat the consequences. 36 hours later I deteriorated and had to call for help from 4 teenagers out drinking wine at 2am! WTF! Do teens drink wine now? I went into two comas but survived.

I have fought for the past 7 years for my son's life. He is a good man who happened to marry a very abusive wife. He was in the Army and instead of listening to him they put him on drugs~! We got the dreaded call one night from the MPs that he had overdosed. He was in Oklahoma at the time and we are in NYC. My husband flew out and bought him home. We spent many months fighting for him and visiting him in psych wards. THIS song did the trick and finally got him to open up about what was going on his marriage!! He is now divorced. He is still living with us. I can proudly say his last attempt was 3 years ago. He graduated nursing school this year and is now studying for his bachelors. Through hard work with the VA i have learned to tell when he is not in a good place and have been able to lead him back to the light of day out of that long dark tunnel he would enter! Took 2 years to get his ex to allow him and us to have our grandchild for the summers and that was the biggest thing to help him!! I still play this song over the loudspeakers in my house to remind him HE is NOT alone and has loving family to stand by him!
@duarteluder4 жыл бұрын
Marianne, this song is a reminder that we're ALL on the same boat and only buy opening up and letting others know of our suffering can they help and make us feel that we're not alone. This is a very powerful song and it makes me cry every time. Your son was inspired by it to make the first step to ask for the help that you were so desperate to give. So many of us are so willing to give that support to others if only we knew that they desperately need it and all it takes is for us to realise that we are not alone. We are all connected. We were just temporarily separated at birth and we forgot it.

Hold on everyday will get better. We need to shift or thinking into the unknown future. This day and night will pass. As long as we have a future we can fix the if we really want to. But if you choose to take action end in your life it's too late but as long as you can breathe and move forward you can fix what is wrong. Talk to a friend you can trust and if there is no one then go to a clergyman old church later. We need you desperately to help other people just like your problem. I can promise you life gets better. Have patience and wait. In several years you will look back and say I was in a dark place but not anymore 👍 please don't let us down for your family, keep breathing. We really only need three things in life, food water and air!!! The fourth thing is God.

I lost my husband 3 weeks ago. He took his life and it's so difficult to carry on. This song touches me in so many ways. I am hanging on by the minute, the hour,and hopefully in the future by the day. Tonight we were supposed to celebrate New Years Eve together. He let himself go, the hurt was too great. If anyone out there is considering ending their life please know there is always help. You have to be brave and reach out. Because taking your life hurts the living.There are no words. P.S. It's been roughly 3 years since I wrote this above - so so touched by ppl's encouragement, wisdom, compassion, and those who've endured their own losses. Please know I'm doing well now. I'm raising our 3 teenagers with a full heart, empathy, and strength. Recently I have fallen in love with a wonderful man who warmed my heart and lit a fire in my soul. I've gotten to the end of this tunnel and found joy and happiness - the sun always shines after storms, just gotta keep the faith and hang in there. Thanks again everyone. Hugs and love to you all.

Felt like ending it all on many occasions just to be with her but I listen to this song and hold on. Thank you REM!

Sometime we can be faced with despairing, terrifying, dangerous, unpleasant situations. sometimes things go out of control. " sometimes everything is wrong". pain can feel overwhelming. sometimes it's too dark to see any hope on the horizon, but it will come. the pain will subsided, and you will be stronger than the person you were before the pain. for anyone who feels alone or desperate or at the end of their rope... keep hanging on, never give up. Keep your spirit and soul high. everything will be okay. I love you.

Used to listen to this song constantly and watch video when I was in the deepest darkest thrones of depression ~ really got me through some very bad days. As the song said, Hold On, Hold On, Hold On and thankfully that is what I did and now have 2 beautiful grandchildren

Such a beautiful human-being Michael Stipe. Everything comes so organically, making r.e.m extraordinary. Listening him today, after so many years, same feeling. Timeless.

@Sandra Villalobos I am so sorry for your loss. I know it can be a living hell some days.Death hurts us because we do not know what or even if there is another place we exist, without our bodies. I hope that you have someone to whom you can talk to about how you feel. We all need to be deeply listened to. Bless

Don't ever forget there is a God that cares, and that there is life beyond this - but for now, we need to fulfill our purpose here.
