My HS couldn't find people who wanted to be cheerleaders. It ended up with 4 very heavy girls and 2 guys to help with the lifts. They were really good though....

One of the all time greatest films!!! You never forget lines like, "I wanna sleep with truck drivers and get crabs" or "I know you're watching Mr. Decay" or Eileen Brenner saying "not those dirty pilllows, THESE dirty pillows!" and I will NEVER say on a plane, "stewardess, my coffee is cold"

Yes, all done with miniatures in the city scene, and even the HBO logo was a physical model. There was a documentary that used to play back then that showed how it was made. And yeah, I miss that intro.

It's a bit amusing to see HBO's powerful early 80's intro before a movie as silly as Pandemonium! As bad as it is, I confess I still get a few chuckles out of it every few years. I too remember HBO showing this in those days and there were lines friends and I would love to quote back then.

@DemonWizzard On second thought, since I'm on Dish Network, you'd have to twist Charlie Ergen's arm to get him to pick up HBO Classic. I begged for HBO Zone in standard definition and he says there's no interest, then he goes and puts up an HD version without adding the SD version, too. Grrrr!

The movie is great, but what I have always loved even more is the HBO opening scene. I know it sounds like idolatry, but they knew how to put it together with the right music and angle to "inspire majesty" in their own brand. lol Oh, and I wish HBO would show that old thing more these days....and Closet Cases of the Nerd Kind. Maybe come out with an HBO Classics channel and rerun old schedules, including the old short movies. Use all the old stuff from the early years.
