I feel the knee pad is not very comfortable and a little too tight even though it can stretch out a bit. It's not the pad itself which is super flexible, soft and light. It's the taper/slim fit of the knee area that pulls the pad just below my knee (already use the upper pad position). I don't feel very confident that the pads are at the right spot at all time to protect me. The left leg also twists toward the right a little, so the front of knee is not completely covered. It also can be a little hot if you wear it in 90 F summer days and walk around, such as walk from office building to parking lot. I'm 5'9 and 145 lbs wearing 30x32.

Great review! Now, having UHMWPE, isn't there a risk these pants melt in case of an accident? Is there any research on that?

Tons of research actually. UHMW-Pe has a low melting point so if you were to say come in contact with your exhaust, it wouldn't fair too well. However, in a slide off the bike you wouldn't reach the required temperatures to do that so they remain intact. All of the UHMW-Pe jeans passing the new standards are a great testament to that as well, since they are testing from a certain speed to a total stop. Great question though.
