Sounds like you've been through a lot brook. I used to do ketamine recreationally in my early 20's. A whole lot. Me and my friend used to sniff it, fall into a k hole, snap out of it and make a bunch of crazy music. The stuff can make you very creative but only after you come down from it. How long after the K wears off untill you feel better? I noticed the effects almost immediately afterwards. I used to call it the twilight zone.
@brookelucas33652 жыл бұрын
@Jr V honestly it depends on the location/state and what you need done. I got my first set of 6 done in November of 2021 and it was almost 4,000 out of pocket in Vancouver Washington, I’ve since moved back home to Montana and am due for a booster session, however because it’s been so long I have to do 6 sessions over again, they will just be spread out more, thankfully in the state of Montana, Medicaid which I’m on covers these treatments. Some other insurances may also cover some of it, but not a lot of people are informed on the insurance aspect of it and it saves a lot of hassle. Definitely keep up on the maintenance of it if you’re looking into it, but it’s been extremely beneficial, at least for me. You have to go in with an open mind, make sure you’re going to therapy, wanting to truly heal from past trauma and make a change. I documented each of my sessions and had someone with me each time and it was so crazy. Definitely cried each time, but it was literally over 2 decades of built up trauma and tears that I’ve just kept in that came flooding out during these sessions. What happened in 2 weeks, I couldn’t do in over 25 years and I’m 31 now. It’s definitely a life changing experience, but it’s also not for everyone.

First session was pretty intense, second was enjoyable, after that they were too weak. Sadly, no impact on my Depression (as I expected) but no lasting side effects like ECT. I eventually went to a Psychologist to get tested for ADHD and Adderall has significantly improved my quality of life way more than any of the probably 25+ depression meds I've been prescribed over the years.

i feel like General Practitioners handing out depression meds is a super harmful practice that shouldn't be allowed. All the patient knows is "shit sucks, I want it to be better" and the Doctor says, "here is an SSRI, lemme know", ignoring how many other neurotransmitters could be responsible or how CBT could solve the problem with no meds at all... The patient normally does notice an improvement, but why? It could be that an imbalance of serotonin was the problem and they got lucky.. or it could be they gained confidence by taking a positive action toward mental health and that alone helped? Placebo? Any improvement is welcome, right? Some may not get any benefit or develop symptoms that are still bad but different.... All I'm saying is, when an airplane needs engine work, you don't take it to an auto mechanic. Don't trust your brain health to a body doctor.

@2girls 1cup Probably a joke, but I'll answer anyways. Honestly it would probably make them worse. On shrooms at least, an idea snags you, and you can't let go of it. I think worrying about being gay on shrooms will put you into the "questioning" category really fucking quick. I remember telling my buddies I was with that I loved them, with an awkward "as friends, not in a gay way" at the end. I was thinking about how not gay I am for like an hour, and then I tried to understand how being gay works. It was not a good time. At the end of the day I still don't get it, so I guess I'm alright.

@0:37 Theo's face when Joe asks him "Did you trip balls?" those 2 seconds before he gets to "Bro!" are friggin HILARIOUS! As someone who's had WAY too much "tripping balls" myself -- no lie -- something about his nonverbal communication in that moment is SO genuine as he re-remembers the ketamine (or Special K as we called it) that it practically GAVE ME flashbacks --! Which is extra crazy bc even after >1000 trips i don't know that I've EVER had one of the so-called "flashbacks" that are so rumored to accompany lsd/mushroom/ketamine. Never in 20 years. But i had a flashback EACH of the 4 or 5 times i rewatched it. So i guess I'm just saying that I'LL VOUCH for Theo 100% on this one. He MEANS it. He TRIPPED BAWZ! ha ha

@@chriss.9398 Oh yes absolutely. But keep in mind, you have to be very open minded and I would say it helps big time to be a spiritual being. There were a few people in there who were surface level people and weren't very 'deep', and they were all complaining how they were not sure if it was helping or not. And I feel the reasoning is you have to be extremely open minded about the ether of the universe, and any possibilities that you might see that is directed at you personally. for me, I had the revelation that were are all on this planet infinite, and we will keep coming back, until we have gotten full self love and enlightenment. This whole planet is always searching for what? Love. every song is about it, books, tv shows our thoughts many times a day is about finding a connection or about the connection that you have. In the end, it is irrelevant. If you do not love yourself, then you are only searching for external validation. The only validation that one needs is to be ok with themselves, and everything else will fall into place.

I’ve blasted the fuck off on ketamine and haven’t ever experienced vivid hallucinations like that so now I’m wondering if the dose they give you in a treatment center through IV is actually enough to K hole and to go through what he described or if that was just Theo making an entertaining story for the people lol My experience with ketamine wasn’t hallucinations it was more of like laying in my bed, but my view was from the top right corner of my room and if I watched KZbin videos I felt like I was friends with the people in it lmao so maybe it was similar to that for him when he thought about his parents. The best part for me was how it was non addictive, zero comedown and completely took away depression for like 3 months and I mean being depressed, anxious, etc. for 6 years straight and It allowed me to remember what I used to feel like, before I felt like that and I was productive as fuck for that whole year I was taking it every other week or month. For anyone watching this pondering using ketamine therapy to deal with a trauma from the past that you have suppressed or just can’t access for whatever reason. I’d highly recommend it. It’s a powerful thing and you can accomplish what years & years of traditional therapy claims to help with in a few days- Like Theo stated it’s not a long term fix. But nothing is~becoming new or who you once were requires a lot of changes that most don’t want to deal with. But this is a great place to start. ESP if you go into it with a purpose and clear goals in mind.
