Great review! I LOVE this watch. Only wish I had the coin to make the purchase.

Thinking about this or the 270. Love this one, but 270 more practical... Thoughts?

+Lou P Hi Lou, great choice! You'll have a far less common watch, and the second time zone offers more real world practicality than a chronograph. Plus, you get a date function, too. Wear it in great health! Best, Tim

Love the ceramica line. If I had the cash for a luxury watch this would be it. I would take this over a more expensive rolex if someone was to gift me a crazy watch

I"ve read about the extreme scratch resistance of ceramic (mainly when referring to ceramic bezels). Also heard about the resistance to fading. But I thought I read something about the vulnerability to cracking (when dropped for example). What's your thoughts on this?
@Guacamolequeenx22 жыл бұрын
I’ve got a similar Panerai ceramic 1441 and it accidentally dropped off the bathroom vanity onto a tile floor. The watch band lug cracked clean off and the case had to be replaced. Not covered by Panerai warranty but I had it covered under umbrella insurance policy along with other watches. Cost just under $4,000 to have repaired by Panerai. Movement wasn’t damaged so no repair needed there. I don’t wear this watch for everyday now because I consider it too brittle, as ceramic is known to be and therefor fragile, although as mentioned it is very scratch resistant. The very tough carbon Carbotech version would be definitely better suited for everyday use.

@@Guacamolequeenx2 Wow! That sounds painful! Useful information. Did you have the strap off? I would've assumed the strap would've kinda cushion the lug from breaking? How does' that umbrella insurance work? Home coverage umbrella insurance? Glad it worked.

@@twoweeledsoto6072 The strap was attached. Both lugs on the same side snapped clean off. I’m thinking of trading it for a Carbotech although I think the ceramic is a cleaner look. IWC makes some nice ceramic watches also. I insured a couple of watches and hand guns under one separate insurance policy with USAA in case lost, stolen, damaged, etc.

@@Guacamolequeenx2 With strap attached, BOTH lugs broke off?? Wow! Shocked at that. Glad I read your response. I'd assume one lug with strap would be a bit freakish. Both lugs with strap on tells me, avoid! 😁 Thanks for the information.

Why’s it called PAM when the brand is Panerai ?
@the1916company6 жыл бұрын
The letters PAM are the first 3 letters of all *PA*nerai *M*odel (or Reference) Numbers. We are not 100% sure what 'PAM' may stand for, but our best guess is that it may be PAnerai Model. It may be an Italian acronym that stands for something else, but this is our best guess. --Team WatchBox

Match the hour hand to the GMT hand (first crown step), then set the GMT hand by adjusting the minute hand (crown pulled fully). Readjust the hour hand again (bring back crown one step).

Cool watch, but you gotta wonder about the price tag. Saw perfect replicas of this watch on my trip to China. Same Ceramic and AR Sapphire case materials. Bright superluminova. Same weight and a perfect clone of the movement inside. Functions exactly the same as well. Every feature, even the 3+ day power reserve w/ working indicator, for approx $500.

same for Rolex - you can get perfect replicas

Perfect clone movement for 500$ ? Yeah right lol. Also, good luck getting that thing serviced if it is indeed some shitty clone movement of the genuine Panerai. And you can be certain that the ceramic might look the same, but it's just not.
