It is not us vs them. It is us against a fallen world, a fallen country, fallen ideologies and fallen politicians. All we can do is love our neighbours as we love ourselves and love the world God gave us. Well done Tidy Towns and the communities. Take it back and love each other as Christ loved us. May we become a country again that honours God and this country he gave us by keeping it clean externally and internally.

Glad to see what is happening through Tidy Towns. I loved the South Coast and lived there for some time. My two sons were born in Port Shepstone hospital. We migrated to Oz 30 years ago but last year had the opportunity to take them down the coast to see their roots.If we ever moved back to SA it would be back to the South Coast.

Be very proud of yourselves Tidy Towns Team. WE are.

I just want to give a shout out to Round Table. I'm a member of the Association of Round Tables of Southern Africa (ARTSA) and we have individual tables and structures in place country wide that are enthusiastic to help with initiatives just like this. We help get corporate funding for projects and each table has a trust account which can assist with tracking and paying donations of public money for these things. Many structures are already in place, let's work together!

Are we allowed to ask how the rates and taxes that you pay monthly is being spent by the municipality, to do what is now paid for a second time?
@RichardMullin1 Жыл бұрын
Of course you are allowed to ask but I think you missed the point of the story. They did this because they were sick of pointing fingers and complaining. They have put that all to one side and started 'doing" with the hope that the wider community will join in and see what is possible when honest people work together
@vrassoc Жыл бұрын
No, I didn't miss the point of the story. I have admiration for what is being done. But is demanding the services that you pay for really finger pointing and complaining? Can we only get any chance of a decent life by paying taxes and still doing the work ourselves? Is it not allowing criminals to simply get away with their crimes with zero consequences? Is that sustainable?
@RichardMullin1 Жыл бұрын
@@vrassoc I think they are probably tired of demanding and not getting. They are in a no win situation. Sit and complain about what is right and what their rights are, or get up, do it yourself and "pay slightly higher taxes". They probably put a lot of these expenses through their business so pay less tax anyway. Hopefully the people that are responsible for keeping the crooks in jobs see what is possible ( jobs and income from tourists coming back wise ) and hopefully make moves to get rid of them or at least hold them accountable.
