Jeff, I just did one of those remote reservoirs on my 55.2. The billet cap wouldn't seal on the new 2 pot master, fill the remote and fluid would run down the sides under the lid. After taking everything apart, I found the new master isn't flat. The billet cap would rock, the cast iron had a high spot on the middle. Might want to check that before filling and bleeding everything.

the oil pressure line, On my old 55 chev had the pressure gage, not a sending unit type. as I remember there had a three turn coil reduce the potential of a vibration crack at the block end of the line, and it was the factory fix. the motor mounts allow motion which in a side to side mode breaks the line. the coils in the line gives enough flex , there by easing the load on the steel line. the only option is to put a flexible line in its place. but you mist still put a curve in it as a direct line streight to the block will break quickly also.

Soo, since you have the pcv side hooked up, Where is the fresh air intake???? Wouldn't you need to add breather valve covers?

@daleolson3506 It's been a while since I've fiddled with an early block. But if memory serves I've ran into that problem before! AND!!! He must run breathers on BOTH valve covers with this style pcv set up!!! If not one side won't breathe!!!!!

Oil fill tube at the front of the intake. Yet to be installed, as it would be in the way, AND it's CHROME, so I can't chance the damage!

​@@daleolson3506 Not necessarily, the oil fill will be a tube on the intake on this mill, so an oil fill Vent cap will suffice. Same set up as I have on a 1959 Ford 352FE.

Dropping a dizzy all the way in? Well I'm used to Fords with the dizzy up front, but even with a rear-mounted distributor, I would still try turning the crank pulley by hand, or my favorite, which is leaving the vehicle in 2nd gear, (if it's a manual) and rocking the vehicle back and forth, in gear, with the park brake off.
