SM64 - Hands Free Teleport Glitch

If you teleport when you are holding an object hands free, some weird stuff happens. For every object besides a bob-omb, the object will become suspended near you, invisible and impossible to collect. For bob-ombs, their fuse will be visible and you ARE able to collect them back. You can also, do this with a bob-omb that is about to explode (a bloated bob-omb, if you will), and then you will continuous backwards momentum. These points are all expanded upon in the video.

It can be quite difficult to do, since Mario's position has to be exactly right. If the bob-omb explodes on you, then Mario probably wasn't exactly on the teleporter. Mario has to be exactly on the teleporter the first frame he is standing, and if he is off at all, then the bob-omb will simply explode.

That's called a Jump Dive. You do a triple jump, but on the last A input you also press B, like this: Press A, land, then immediately press A again, land, and then immediately press A and B together.

the penguin glitch in cool cool mountain reminds my relationship right now... i'm given thanks for being a good partner, but no reward (aka, star) for it, like it's mostly all talk and no action/reward. she's often not there for me, and it makes me wonder if I did some weird glitch along the way that turned her off... :( oh well...

the was one time I SOMEHOW MADE THE PENGUIN APPEAR IN THE CASTLE OUTSIDE OF THE PAINTING. after I left the game and came back, the penguin was permanently stuck in the room with cool cool mountain painting. I do not know how it happened but at least I can throw it around without loosing it

As I have knowledge about games. I am guessing the hands free glitch makes the game ignore what's in your hands. (By normal means when you are holding an item the teleportation area will not teleport you) but this glitch must make the game say. 'Ok there is nothing in Marius hands so just teleport him' Correct me if I am wrong please. And please don't hate me.

Mario has a state variable for tracking what he's doing (standing, triple jumping, dying in quicksand). There is a subset of these states for when Mario is holding an object, and normally, exiting this state set releases the object. However, there are a few ways to do so without releasing the object, and those ways trigger the hands free glitch.

I think that the reason with the cork box is because the bob-omb, being held, but not exploding, considers your position to be at the teleporter. Then the cork box far from it was intangible, but the on near it was. So when you walk into the cork box far, the bobomb goes inside it, and then when you touch it, tries to get out, and pulls you through it.

Step 1: Do the HFTG with an unbloated Bob-omb Step 2: Go to the island in the sky without making it unobtainable (preferrably with a cannon) Step 3: Align yourself with the teleporter near the island (preferrably with Mario Cam c(down)) Step 4: Go to the edge of the island Step 5: Look back so your back is facing the teleporter Step 6: Savestate and try to spam b Step 7: When you are in a hands free state, you will drop down from the island Step 8: Try to move to the telporter (preferrably with savestates) Step 9: You're done In depth explanation for Step 6 1-Mario will grab the bob-omb 2-Mario will fall off the island 3-Mario will dive to the bob-omb (too early and the bob-omb will not be bloated, too late and you dive to the bob-omb) 4-The bob-omb will be bloated 5-The bob-omb pushes Mario off the island, therefore making him hold it hands free 6-Continue to Step 7
