Why not just play Everquest? Its still out and updated. Pantheon is going to be DOA shortly afgter official release when they charge you monthly....

I had that same thought also. I am liking what I am seeing so far, but you are correct, I won't last. I fear the devs did a disservice to the game by putting it on steam so soon. Which is a shame, it's a fun game, it has a place, but I fear they may have killed it by doing so.
