right on. Not something I would consider backpacking item but for car camp, it looks like a real nice hammock. When ever I see/hear spreader bars, I remember having the Clark jungle hammock in the cart so many times, about to hit the button but never did. Now Dutch owns them. Maybe some day Ill hit the button. cheers from ca.

It's definitely an interesting design, but unfortunately expensive and comparably heavy considering there's no tarp included. This is also a big oversight on their marketing because it can't be considered a tent without a rainfly, and it simply doesn't include everything you need to get a good night's sleep as they state on their site.

Due to the weight and cost of the Hammock , I would get a honest Bridge Hammock instead. Providing that's the style you want. Personally the only hammock that has dumped me was a spreader Bar Hammock ( Lawson Blue Ridge ). It was my fault since I tried to sit on it like I do with my gathered-end hammocks. I go Ultralight so it's the lighter, gathered-end , hammocks for myself.

the price is a bit ridiculous for the materials - but i like this design, as it is how i build my hammock as well (thought muuuuuch lighter, and much better materials, proper straps and so on.. and apparently less shoulder squeeze, which is probably due to their bars and exact cut) I do this for the same reason (bivy) and have a lot of prior art posted on various forums. I would generally recommend that sort of hammock, though hopefully someone mass produces it for something reasonable, like 100usd. Note, I do also require a pillow in my hammock - it's basically closer to a cot or a bed, so it's kinda required (but it can be a tent pillow ;-) ps: Small criticism: you should make a shot with you in the hammock so that we can see how it lays with a person in it.

For that weight and cost to sleep just 1 person and need a pad, I might as well get a 2-man tent.
