A few years back my husband and I were at an open air concert at a football stadium to see 2 of the worlds greatest artists sharing the bill. We were about 3 rows back from the walk way which led to all the amenities. I noticed a girl staggering past with her pals all enjoying the beautiful weather, music and amenities🍻. They all come back a little later and this one girl is lagging behind slightly, still wobbley, and she is about level with me when she turns abruptly and starts screaming Paolo, Paolo. This guy who had just passed her turns around and smiles and says hello. She grabs him in a bear hug professing eternal love - he was not getting away. It was, of course, Paolo Nutini. Do you know what he did to that slightly drunk, emotional girl? He hugged her right back - properly - not trying to pull away or in a stand offish way. Still smiling in her tight grasp he thanked her for stopping to say hello and telling her it was lovely to meet her. Not once did he link eyes with anyone watching and roll eyes or even try to push her away. This happened right in front of my eyes, so I heard every word and saw every gesture. This left me struck with what a lovely, kind, generous man he was. He was so sweet to this slightly drunk and dishevelled young lady, I can easily see why his fans love him.

Hi, BlackPegasus! It's Andrew Erroch fae Paisley in Scotland here. And here you are, reacting to Paolo Nutini fae Paisley. This fellow 'Paisley Buddy' has done very well from small beginnings and purely by chance and talent. His big break came inside Paisley Town Hall in 2005, when he wasn't even planning on being there. A friend talked him into going along that night. The artist due on stage was David Sneddon, winner of BBC TV talent show Fame Academy, but his flight was delayed. So, singers from the audience were invited up on stage. One of them was wee Paolo Nutini, aged 16, still wearing his school uniform. The rest is history. Now, he can sell out any venue in Scotland and perhaps throughout all of the UK. In 2022, he did a series of 5 Sold Out gigs at Scotland's No.1 music venue, my workplace, The OVO Hydro in Glasgow, which broke the record for Sold Out gigs at that venue. Also, in August this year, he returned to Paisley Town Hall for a gig to support local charities. Each ballot ticket was only £3 and he raised £300,000 for 2 charities. I bought a few tickets, but wasn't lucky in the ballot. Please check out more from oor Paolo. He is very much a down to earth guy. He can be still be seen around Paisley, where his dad still runs the Castelvecchi Fish and Chip Shop, that was founded by Paolo's great grandfather 120 years ago. Paolo himself used to work there and live above the shop. So, he always comes back home. As others have suggested, please check out 'Pencil Full Of Lead' next and then I'm sure you'll be back for much more. Æ 🙏

I found him when he was very young singing songs about moving from a small village in Scotland to London and getting lost - These Streets. Have watched him grow up through his music. His early crush on older women, etc etc. Wife and I both love his latest album as well. He has so many gems of songs. I noticed this on your members only and joined just to see how you found it. This song is intense but he does have lighter songs as well. He does some very cool covers as well eg Mazzy Star's - Fade Into You (though you should listen to the haunting original before Paulo's version). Indie music is another whole genre to explore........

His song "New Shoes" was a favorite of my mom's. Paolo is a phenomenal musician and i dont know why i never went deeper into his discography.

Paolo is a Scot 🏴 born with Italian 🇮🇹 Roots & heritage! This song was released in 2014 and the lyrics of Iron Sky replicates much about what was going on at the time politically in Scotland with a referendum vote for Scot’s to chose to be free from British rule and the song & lyrics can relate to many thoughts about so me personally think it was Paolo expressive political feels at that time

My favourite artist, seen him live twice...my favourite two gigs ever. Will see him a thousand times if possible. Everywhere is mine and my wife "to be" first dance song. Long story but he's actually one of the reasons I got a second date with her 😅

Yeah, check out his back catalogue. He’s been performing since a teenager, from Paisley in Scotland. For such a young person, he has Soul in abundance. What a voice!
