I cried everytime when I watch this scene...😭 Papa G, Kid Cosmic's grandpa, ever since his first appearance from episode 1, had always been on his side from using the power stone, from going to outer space, to being on the superhero world, he's been there for them to comfort Kid after his parent's died from the car crash. Optimistic, caring, and someties serious, Papa G is a good example of a well-written grandparent/guardian in all of cartoons next to Grunkle Stan.

And before anyone says it’s “impossible”…..this is a fictional story, and we’re talking about something that happens after the show already ends, so that part is left up to us to decide since it isn’t written into the story. If I want him to live to 119 then he’s GOING TO live to 119, dammit:)

Oh jeez as someone who already lost their grandpa a few years ago, I FELT this scene. Papa G is very similar to how my own grandpa was….my cousins and I even called him Papa lol (this was years before the show came out so just a coincidence, we didn’t name him after the character lol). I immediately liked/got attached to the character from day 1 and it took me a while to figure out why, but I think it’s because of that:)

Hey, I’ve been reflecting a lot lately, especially after the loss of my great uncle. I’ve been thinking about how quickly things can change, and it actually reminded me of Kid Cosmic and Papa G. In the show, Papa G starts off strong but gradually becomes weaker, stuck in a wheelchair, with his spark fading. It’s heartbreaking because you can see he’s still in there, but the world is slowly taking him away. It made me think of my uncle, who was a hardworking man with a huge heart. As he got older, everyone saw him lose himself-physically, emotionally, and mentally. It wasn’t just about his body failing him; it was the way his spirit started to fade too. Watching someone lose their essence, their passion, that part of them that made them who they were, is tough. It wasn’t all at once, but little by little, he became someone who needed help when he was once so independent. Papa G’s character resonates with me because he still had so much to give, even as his body failed him, and that’s how I remember my uncle. He never stopped fighting, never stopped caring, even when everything else was slipping away. It’s a reminder of how fragile life is, how quickly everything can change, and how hard it is to watch someone you love lose themselves. But it’s also a reminder that the love and strength people give, that heart they carry, never truly fades. It lives on in the ones they leave behind.

Spoilers: I kept seeing this circulate my feed and really avoided clicking on this until after I finished the series. I am so glad that this entire scene was a fakeout. Even setting up a funeral endgame style only for papa G to literally roll up, a great subversion of our expectations.
