I love the backstory of Rebekah's plan of Mikael coming to town because then that crosses over to the episode of tvd of the 1920's in Chicago where we see Stefan and Rebekah together with Klaus and them eventually running away when they get caught. Like everything comes together full circle.

The baby is a half werewolf, a quarter witch, and a quarter vampire because of klaus's mother and his vampire blood. But because the baby hasn't died and become a vampire, her blood can be used as witches blood. But essentially, the baby is all three species which is pretty freaking cool

Well the Rebekah/Stefan/Klaus on TVD was in the 1920s but they never specified the year I don't think, so could have been mid 1920s a few years after 1919.

The babay is a first borm Mikaelson witch from Esther's side. All the Mikaelsons are technically witches but since you cannot be both vampire and witch(Heretics excluded of course), they cannot access their magic. Since the baby is not a vampire, it has access to the ancestral magic of the bloodline and is incredibly powerful as a first born. :)

klaus has been giving hints that he is jealous of Elijah, like when he screamed at elijah "it has everything to do with her". that wasnt only about the baby...but he also isnt blind and he sees Hayley seems to like Elijah. But i dont doubt if Hayley showed Klaus she favors him, he would be the happiest vamp on earth. I think Rebekah is right saying Elijah would choose Hayley over Klaus. I mean, the guy didnt even ask Klaus if he actually has feelings for her or she is actually nothing to him. He has known his brother for a thousand years and doesnt get his brother purposely "not caring" about things but actually deeply caring. Meanwhile Rebekah told Klaus it was ok to care and to want something after he had Hayley by the neck because she wanted to put his baby out of its misery...I think she understands Klaus more deeply.

The way I paused to take a closer look at the symbol when it showed up in the mayor's forehead... between that and Tunde's twin sons, there are some interesting tie-ins to other TVDU lore that could have been fun to see explored in canon (Legacies S5 🥺). You will find that this episode has pretty wide-reaching ramifications, and the Blade is quite a weapon. I'm glad you guys have now gotten to the reveal about Mikael being lured to New Orleans, and the why. It's one of the really fantastic narrative decisions of season 1 (and it's something I'm not sure would have come about if not for a behind-the-scenes cast thing). The New Orleans witches would have been more than happy to consecrate Tunde's body, if he was going to be dead, to get access to his power- which does make Klaus a bit foolish for letting them get access to his remains. Also, you got the start of a running theme in the episode before this, when they consecrated Esther's body on New Orleans land- they are starting to introduce the definite possibility of the baby being witchy. The baby would be living, not undead, and thus not cut off from nature the way the undead vampires (Klaus and his siblings) are. No vampire can access "natural" magic (hence why Abby Bennett was killed/turned to stop Esther channeling the Bennett Bloodline- she stopped being a witch). You all joked in the video for TVD 5x11 about how Klaroline could have been making a baby, but Caroline is, as a vampire, undead and unable to conceive; Hayley, as a werewolf, is fully alive and thus because of Klaus' hybrid status making a loophole for Nature, was able to conceive (I don't know that we were ever given much insight onto Tyler's status, but like I said it wouldn't matter in his relationship with Caroline). The nitty gritty of who can have magic is mostly kept vague, and mostly decided at the writers' whims, but it can be knit together well enough with what we get in-show/from interviews. Tunde was channeling a lot, here, like we've sometimes seen Bonnie do (she first learned with Luka back in S2). We also saw it with Qetsiyah channeling the three Dopplers, or the channeling of natural events like comets/ eclipses/ moon phases- like the doppelgangers, Originals are pretty good sources of magical energy, it's just that they weren't often allied with our Mystic Falls Gang enough for Bonnie to be channeling them. To confirm something you answered for yourselves: Marcel was returning from World War I in these 1919 flashbacks (Rebekah and Klaus would meet Stefan in the 20's- at this point he was 7 years into his 1912-spurred Rippering), and Stefan found Damon in New Orleans before going off to World War II in 1942. (ETA immediately: Enzo also fought in WWII, as he revealed to Damon while imprisoned together; Marcel's WWI stationing was in France, Stefan's WWII was in North Africa as an ambulance driver, and Enzo was in Eastern Europe for WWII)

​@@eseschannel12 I know I haven't rewatched TO since Legacies aired, so I totally get it. It wasn't quite as similar to the Malivore one as I thought on first glance, but there is a triangle involved- it's like a stick figure with the chest area composed by a triangle. That being said, that it's engraved to the head feels pretty significant. We do know that Malivore went through pre-Nigeria (Tunde is a Nigerian name) and France (where Marcel met Tunde) at different points, so he could have come across records on Malivore at some point if someone wanted to tie them together.

Papa Tunde was one of the best villains they went up against but they gave him so little screen time I will never forgive them for that. I also like how they showed just how powerful a witch can be while channeling vampirism into raw power.
