Paper Clay Recipe | How to make paper clay for modeling

The paper clay recipe includes the following ingredients:
Toilet paper - 1 roll
Water - 1.5l
PVA glue - 200-250ml
Sunflower oil - 50ml
Potato starch - 200g

I like this; nice and easy. I like the "without water recipe" best. I use a small coffee grinder to grind toilet tissue paper, approx. 4 to 5 sheets at a time. Works wonders. I saw this on another paper clay recipe. Thanks for sharing.

Bonjour. Lors du séchage, l'argile à papier ne rétrécit presque pas. Essayez d'acheter du mastic en ligne ou dans une quincaillerie. Si vous ne trouvez pas de mastic, essayez de le remplacer par du plâtre ordinaire.

Salut. De la moisissure peut apparaître si vous fabriquez des produits à partir de vieux papier d'argile. Je recommande d'utiliser de la pâte à papier dès que possible après le mélange. L'acide citrique peut également être mélangé à l'argile elle-même. Ils disent que ça aide. Avant de peindre, je recouvre les maisons avec un fongicide. Ensuite, je peins les produits puis je vernis.

I have done this with newspaper and it works but it will not be as "nice" as with toilet paper. It will be lumpier. And you have to let it sit in warm water overnight. But the more you work with the paper and break the fibers down. The better will the results get. I prefer to use newspaper because toilet paper is expensive for me to use. If I could afford or wanted to use the extra money I would go for toilet paper before the newspaper. Just because the clay will be finer. But it all depends on how much time you want to give to make the clay. I also have discovered that the paper from egg cartons is way better than the newspaper. So save those and use them.

Hello. Thank you very much for your experiment and for writing the result here. If toilet paper is expensive for you, then try the usual white napkins for cafes and restaurants, which are sold in large packs of 500 pieces. I now use such napkins. They are much cheaper than toilet paper.

Hi. Most likely the plastic container lets air through, so your paper clay dries. I store the sculpting mass in two plastic bags in the refrigerator. In this form, paper clay has never hardened. At the same time, it is recommended to use it for 2-3 weeks, otherwise it may deteriorate. У меня было именно так. Дело не в пва, а в гипсовой шпатлёвке. Там могут быть разные составляющие, в моей наверное, много гипса. Бумажная глина, которая при замешивании была очень хороша, после двух часов в холодильнике окаменела! При этом она была горячая. Меня это ужасно удивило, словно я брала алебастр, а не безобидную шпатлёвку. Еле успела натереть на крупной тёрке и добавить наспех пва и масло растительное. Кажется, и воды чуть пришлось добавить. Из полученного теста быстро сделала болванки-заготовки домиков; больше эту шпатлёвку использовать не буду.
