Okay, so KZbin is now putting ads on my videos without my permission. Please, skip it if you can, close your eyes if you can't, and NEVER purchase a product advertised on this video!
I made this for a local coffee house. You can see details of this build on my blog, www.PaperMacheB.... And stop by my site for information about my paper mache techniques, www.GourmetPape.... Thank you for watching!

amazingsaint Funny, this was very controversial. I made him for a coffee shop. Hence the cup of coffee in his hands. But some people considered that to be blasphemous because he is a Buddha. Of course he is a "Laughing Buddha" which has no historical relevance. And I think people should have a sense of humor. I think he turned out well. I appreciate that you think so too. Dan

@Gourmetpapermache 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Marilyn. KZbin watchers will not watch videos that are longer than about 2 minutes. To get in a full build requires that I use time-lapse and keep it short. I try to keep it around 3 minutes. They are meant for entertainment only. But I do have many instructional materials for people who want to learn my techniques on my website and my blog (where I show many projects made step-by-step with commentary).

You're treating the paper like clay with the more detailed parts. Makes me wonder why you don't just use clay but that wouldn't exactly be paper mache. Don't get me wrong I love you're work man! There's no but :)
@Gourmetpapermache
@Gourmetpapermache 9 жыл бұрын
Richard Dantz Thanks again Richard. I did clay for a while years ago. Clay is very unforgiving. It's brittle and you have to worry about firing. And it's very difficult to make pieces that are this size with clay. This medium, in contrast, is very forgiving. You can easily fix things or change course in the middle of a project. And you can make pretty large pieces. Dan

@Gourmetpapermache
@Gourmetpapermache 2 жыл бұрын
Hey again. Sorry, it's not easy making tutorials. It can take weeks for me to make one of my videos. I can tell you though that I just make fingers by twisting paper around pieces of clothes hanger. I crumple balls of paper for the other part of the hand and I put it all together using masking tape. Making human sized hands is actually easier than most because you can use your own hands as models. Just hold everything up to your hand to get a sense of size. Good luck!
