Love your work. Could you tell me where you find the right glass eyes for each animal? They really are the soul of your creations. I dabbled in forming wire armatures from coat hangers and plaster soaked strips of bed sheets when I was in college back in the eighties. I made a bulldog similar to yours but I had to use marbles for the eyes. Your way seems much quicker? (or maybe it's the illusion of the time lapse?) ;) You've inspired me to play once more. :) Also I'm not familiar with the material you are using for the claws and teeth? Is it available at any craft store?
@Gourmetpapermache10 жыл бұрын

Where do you get the glass eyes? I have been using sculpty or Fimo for the eyes. The glass eyes really make the project pop. When I discovered you book several years back it really opened up a new perspective for me. Never thought of the masking tape or the cloth. The cloth really adds. The project is still very light too. I’m so excited I found you on KZbin. :) love it if your stuff we go to a gallery or something like that so I could see everything. I bet your class was popular and fun. I know I would have signed up.
@Gourmetpapermache6 жыл бұрын
I buy my eyes online from taxidermy companies. If you google you can find them all (there are only three or four). They do make a project come alive. I'm biased of course, but yes, I think the cloth and glue (what I call "cloth mache") is great for the "skin" of paper mache sculpture. I did enjoy teaching the classes. Thanks again for your kind remarks. Dan

@Gourmetpapermache6 жыл бұрын
¡Buena suerte!

I live in uk so it is hard to find elmers and what is sold only comes in small bottles/is over £20. I do not really have that much to spend on glue

I do commissions for people and sell from my site. I don't put them in stores. My wife likes this dog so I won't be selling it. You can see some of my prices on my website if you are interested.
