I'm not gonna lie. Watching this LP has been pretty surreal. I've been watching pretty consistently since luigi galaxy which is coming up to 13 years old now. Man, this final fight with Bowser is one that feels super intimidating, he actually uses multiple strategies, and the atmosphere is perfect as rockin' guitars play, it perfectly captures the arm flailer himself in one of his most powerful appearances. Not bad for being a piece of paper!

9:13 I said this before on a lets play of thousand year door, but I really love how Intelligent Systems wrote Princess Peach in the first three games. She isn’t a simple damsel in distress. She has importance to Mario’s success in the story with her telling the locations of most of the star spirits and powering him and the spirits up when Bowser’s far too strong for them (pretty much the same in the sequel too). I really miss this nuance and charm in her character. Also, its been great to revisit this great game in this playthrough, especially after i just finished Bug Fables. Thanks a lot, Chugga!

I’ve been struggling in my life for awhile now, figuring out what I want to do, feeling empty and alone and worried about my health while working to expel my self-doubt and pain from the past that I’ve held onto for far to long. I get scared and nervous to do the things that I want to try and interacting with people scares the crap out of me. Then I watch and listen to your videos. I hear and feel so much energy and excitement coming from you and this playthrough in particular has been so special. I recall watching your first one nearly 15 years ago when I was a little kid just looking at youtube for the first time and seeing the changes from then and now have been so inspiring for me. Watching all of my favorite childhood bosses come back in a hilarious blast from the past way. From the humorous banter of the teenage mutant ninja koopas and the shrink stomping of tutenkoopa, to admiring junior troopa for constantly coming after mario and getting his eggy butt kicked and then STILL coming back while also listening for CHUCK QUIZMO!! And then reaching this final battle here after all Mario has been through you can really relate with how much he has gone through and yet Mario doesn’t let any of that stop him, his sole goal being to save the princess with all the help he has acquired throughout his journey from his friends and Twink and even Princess Peach herself! I love this game so much and this let’s play has been amazing. I’ve laughed so much and whenever I watch it and your other videos I feel like I can go out and try, even when I let my anxiety and worry grip me in its Bowser like claws “though Bowser is way nicer than my anxiety :P” Though I don’t know what's in store for me this year I’m hoping to chug forward on my own train of life and live it the best I can! Thank you so much Chugga! Though I definitely feel bittersweet that this lets play is ending I look forward to the next one with every bit of my being! Here’s to another 15 years of gaming!

I was 4 when I watched my first video on this site and it was an episode from the original Paper Mario LP and I would binge it whenever I was allowed on the computer. Ever since then, I’m now in college and watching the finale just invoked a lot of feelings in me. It makes me really nostalgic for my childhood. I’m far from home now but in an odd way, this video is really comforting. This whole series has just been a blast to watch and I’ve really enjoyed all of them.

Emile. I think I can say the same thing as many others are saying. This LP made me want to get the NSO expansion pass just so I can play this game. All these years you have been creating content for us viewers as well as balancing your main LPs with collaborations such as TheRunawayGuys and Colosseum, it really shows that you have not lost that spark for content creation that you’ve always had. Wow- I can’t believe so much time has passed. I remember as a kid getting my first iPod at the age of 6ish and coming onto KZbin, searching for Nintendo content since that was what I knew, and finding Chugga through Paper Mario and watching him play games that I have never had a chance to before. He was the person who introduced me to Earthbound even and was the reason I was so excited to finally play it when it became available on the Switch. I haven’t got the ability to play Paper Mario (or the sequel) yet but even still, seeing the difference between Chugga’s first let’s play of this game versus now and how much knowledge he has gained makes me happier than ever. (I especially love that he kept making references to the Google translated version) I’m 18 now and the fact that I’m still watching him fills me with great joy! Keep up the great work, man!

I can't believe it's been 14 years since I first watched your TTYD playthrough. You've grown so much, and honestly it's kind of amazing to think about. Especially since that number is two thirds of my life... maybe I shouldn't have been watching your LPs at the age of 7 but hey, better that than some of the stuff that was on KZbin at the time. My ideal Paper Mario partner roster would be Goombaria, Twink, a mouser, a Shy Guy, a penguin, Vivian, Catherine/Birdo, and honestly, I really want Bowser as a party member. That was one of my favorite parts of RPG *and* Super, and I really enjoyed the Bowser Interludes in TTYD. Not sure how you'd justify them all together though.

Thank you for doing this Let's Play, Emile. I must have been following you since you first played TTYD. Now it's nearly a decade later and I'm studying medicine. It's hard, but during the past couple months I knew I could always take some time to enjoy the comfort of Paper Mario in the evenings. I will say, I haven’t been the most consistent viewer of your stuff. I think the first LP of yours I watched was Pikmin, and that was years after it had finished. But man, I love your enthusiasm and the energy you bring to games that you love. This game has a very special place in my heart, and it was magical getting to re-experience it through the eyes of someone who cares about it just as much as I do. Thanks for granting a wish I didn’t know I had made chugga. Also, I just wanna gush for a second about that final scene. The fireworks go on forever. They literally don’t stop until you (on the N64) turn the console off. As a kid, I watched that scene for what must have been hours total across all my playthroughs. It’s just so peaceful and it’s a great place to reflect on the experience you just had. And it’s something that I have basically never seen in a game since. Every game, including future Paper Mario games, eventually just go “alright, back to the main menu with you!” But this one lets you bask and sit and think and reflect all you want. You get to decide when it’s over.

Initially I was skeptical of remaking your old let's plays but so far I've thoroughly enjoyed both of your new playthroughs of Earthbound and Paper Mario. This LP got me to replay Paper Mario on the Switch's online service and it was a blast seeing all this new stuff I'd never heard of and trying advanced techniques I'd never know about as a kid. I ended up finishing it on my own back when this was only up to like episode 10 but you did such a good job that I watched the rest of it once it was complete. If you're going to remake any of your other LP's then I really hope you do Mother 3. That game deserves more exposure and your old playthrough is a lot harder to sit through due to the 11 minute format of old KZbin.

There's really no words that can describe the unexplainable sense of nostalgia you get from experiencing the end of a game you've never played. And I think that's a feeling that everyone should have at least once in their life. This is the 10th LP if yours that I've watched as it's released, and I know for sure it won't be the last. Paper Mario has one of my favorite endings of any RPG. Just seeing everyone from the Mushroom Kingdom come together to celebrate Mario's victory, to see the partners get honored for helping, it's satisfying beyond words. And the parade at the end makes for a wonderful finisher to a great game and an amazing Let's Play.
