The thing I love about the stationary bosses in this game is how relatable they are conceptually. Who didn't pretend that their pencils were rockets or their stapler was a vicious beast as a kid? Don't deny doing so.

I think a missile pencil case, drama kid rubber band sculpture, disco hole punch, mafioso biker tape, sadist scissors that use itself as blades and a rabid dog stapler are pretty unique. Character design isn't everything

Just wanted to say that when you use your ARMS to close the lid on phase 2, it wont work and the box will say: you cant do this when im spinning my pencils" or whatever and its a cool thing to keep away from game and irl logic

Part of me really hurts inside knowing they only gave one of the many of them an actual name and didn't bother with the rest of them. Having the object in question being a title rather than their names feels like an injustice towards what characterization the game has going for it. I may be reading way too deep in to it... But Olivia's reaction to the name and just calling it by the object felt offensive. I dunno how it comes out in the other translations, but it almost seems like a jab at people who like the idea of having character in a storybook of all things.

So this is what happens when you give stubby arm paper mario actual arms and hands. He really gets violent ngl. Like just mentally replace the pencils in the rush attack with spears or metal rocket heads. Brutally stabbing and contorting the sentient metal being. The devs/writters really trying hard to squeeze dark imagery past miyamotto huh. At least in a way it can be masked with goofy visuals. But Jesus Mario....

Once you get the hang of the algorithms, it's really fun. It's much more of a puzzle than their previous games, but I appreciate that it can be challenging. If it were easy, what's the point?
