I don’t know but as a child I personally thought this game was gas 😭 the music was great, characters were fun, bosses were cool, the combat was frustrating at times but pulling stickers in this game was so satisfying. If we’re already talking Mario RPGs post Sticker Star, I think Paper Jam is probably the worst Mario RPG ever. The battle system is the same as ever, that’s _fine,_ but literally everything else was compromised. No interesting story, no cool locations(there aren’t even any interesting landmarks), no variety, and way too many toad rescue missions. NOTHING about this game is original. *Sticker Star was better.*

The princesses actually almost escaped, the trio get thrown in a dungeon, the Papercraft Battles... there is a lot that you're skipping over here.

GamingPerson2046 In Dream Team, Bowser blew up an island. In Sticker Star, he made an entire forest poisonous. Bowser doing bad things isn’t new. The story might’ve had fun moments, but if the premise is generic, the whole story is. and the Papercraft Battles are weak compared to the Giant Battles. They’re basically a waste of time.

I did like the game, as the new mechanics it presented, the story (I wasn´t knowing what to expect from the game as being my first Paper Mario), the levels (and music), bosses (one unic thing about the game is that you could fight them without an especific order the Megasparkle Bosses), and as because of that, I completed the game as much as I could and by playing by the different ways. The darkside is that I´ve lost the phisic game, and I´ve been trying to find it during these months, so it may looks like I´ll never be able to end my file where I tried to complete the game without receiving damage.

If you want weaknesses to all the royal sticker bosses, then here you go: Megasparkle Goomba: Scissors Use it when his goomba minions turn to face you and fly toward you, it deals 20-30 damage (depending on how good you are at getting excellents) separates them all, and skips 2 of his turns Tower Power Pokey: Baseball Bat Use it when he’s at his maximum height (4 segments I believe) and if you get an excellent every time it knocks away all his segments and deals 45 damage per segment Gooper Blooper: Sponge Use it when he’s in his 4th phase, he’ll look purple, he tries to spray poison at you but the sponge reflects it back on him, giving him a chance of missing and makes him take 30 damage every turn Mizzter Blizzard: Any Fire Sticker You can use fire stickers at any time and they always do much more damage than other stickers would do Petey piranha: Megaflash Infinijump Use it when he falls over, like after you hit a pow block or something, and it deals A LOT of damage to petey (if you get an excellent)

I had this impression that considering it’s a 3DS game, I don’t believe it should be criticized the same way the Wii U and Switch games look. It seemed like a portable version of paper Mario with flaws of course and certainly not a great game. But I just remember when I got it, I was just excited to have paper Mario on a portable system

@@WickedBowserJr The game itself is poorly designed. Even without the context of other games, it doesn’t understand how to actually balance a battle system as poorly thought out as it has. Origami king is so much better in every way.

@@bluerious5475 I agree The Origami King’s is better, but I found Sticker Star’s system to be much better than Color Splash because the thing items are mostly optional and it’s a lot less tedious. It being poorly designed is a subjective opinion. As far as I’m concerned, it could’ve been designed better, but it’s good enough and I definitely preferred it to Color Splash only making it extra tedious. Outside the battle system, the world and levels of Sticker Star were great and very creative and it was very refreshing from how dull and monotonous Super Paper Mario’s level design is in comparison despite how great that game’s story was. Like all games, Sticker Star has some flaws, but I definitely wouldn’t call it bad nor poorly designed.
