The metal arm of a rad roller is handy for getting the paper on the wall behind the rad too. I love the new 'paste the wall' papers - so much easier to hang! Take care chaps.

Nicely done! I’ve heard also that some folk add a few coins in the bottom fold of the paper to help it drop down the back of the radiator. 👍

any tips on removing wallpaper behind radiators, without taking them off? cheers!

A nightmare to go round especially if it’s a patterned paper. You just need to use all these tricks to make the best of a bad job. I had to do this only yesterday. Don’t worry-every radiator you have to go round is different.

Quarter turn to undo nuts on ends, lift of brackets lay on floor, paper, lift back onto brackets and tighten nuts. Been doing it that way for years never a problem.

If u add 2p coins to the overlap at the bottom, it drops through lovely.

This most likely isn't an original question, however have you (and your brother!) considered writing a book, reference guide, etc on painting and decorating? In any case, thanks for the many tutorials and guides you've uploaded. You've more than helped me out a few times 👍

There's only one proper way, take the radiator off, about 15 minutes work, it can be cleaned properly removing all the cobwebs, dust etc.

Not my job and it's an old system.. best left.. always best just to get a plumber if the customer wants the rad removing..
@paulf25292 жыл бұрын
Personally I agree, although I've done plenty of plumbing work so not scared of it. I have papered behind before and its a slow tedious job, for me radiator removal is quicker and the lesser evil.

@@paulf2529 The wallpaper never adheres properly when applied with the rad in situ.

@@paulf2529 it's ok till something goes wrong or you discover that the TRV doesn't shut off properly and water is pissing out everywhere covering the carpet in black sludge which won't come out so all of a sudden you have made no profit...personally for a customer if they want the rads off then they need to get a heating engineer to do it ...I agree with the lads on this ...not my job
@paulf2529 Жыл бұрын
@@davewright9312 fair point, I've never had a problem but you do have to be very careful with black sludge etc. I use roll and stroll film under the rad and all the way out the front or back door then flush the radiator through with a hose.

Doing this with finished paper is a complete nitemare even folding them they mark and lose the finish of the paper. 😢😢😢
