My father told me the exact same thing when I was little. "If you want money, go find a company with money, and work for them." Unfortunately for me, Toys "R" Us wasn't hiring 6 year olds. Something about child labor laws and conflict of interests.

I bet they are! But the few with some money find you from your large online catalog of quality animation work. You're a rock god of 2D animation magic and mayhem- I remember you from a long time ago. I used to love looking at the psychedelic masterpieces you'd make. If musicians with some money could be my bread and butter, I'd be so happy. Music videos are probably my favorite thing to animate!

I’d recommend you go ahead and start now with what you’ve got. I think the biggest gains an animator/filmmaker can ever make are in the trails/errors of their own creations. The more you make, the better you’ll get. Equipment upgrades are nice, but they’re secondary to your own growth in the craft IMO.
