Would rather have Paqueta over Guimeraes

Paqueta is so good, always stands out to me, the close control, dribling and passing. Guimeraes is defensively better with good energy and can also pass, midfield would definitely be super solid with him next to rodri if foden plays central 10. Tough to pick one. If kdb and/or berna leaves, a midfield of paqueta, rodri and guimeraes would be so good, nunes and kova on bench/competing for starter.

Most people kept talking like this about Grealish and he turned out great, Bernado took time to get his form, so we should give Nunes and Kova time to adapt..

I wouldn't count Paqueta in that midfield lot you spoke about there, although he'd be another option there, I see him as a Bernardo replacement playing wide as part of a front 3

Get them both in. Kev is getting older and more injury prone. Nunes and Kovacic are not week in/week out first 11 quality for us. Phillips has to go no matter what. We need some strength in depth for once and Rodri has to be able to take a break every now and then without us losing every game he's missing. Bruno G would be amazing for us for sure. He's already said Pep is the GOAT and he would get 20 assists playing with Haaland. Make it happen.

Signing both is downgrading. I feel like we have been signing average players in recent times. Every time we sign a player, i compare with what madrid signs because they are the team we are competing with for the next few years. We are signing Doku, nunes, Kovacic while they sign Mbappe, Davies, Camavinga etc. I believe we should be signing players like Musiala and Wirtz instead of Paqueta

if Nunes stays, he doesn't have much of a chance of playing in midfield. I believe he needs to push for the LW position because I've seen performances from him out there that make me believe that he can keep Jack out the team

On the outgoings, i think a lot will depend on how this season finishes. If we win the title, records will be broken so Bernie, Walker, KDB might want to stay for at least another year! But if we're looking at Paqueta (as long as he gets off) Bernie leaves imo, as he would be his replacement. I would look to include Nunes in a swap.I can't see Guimares coming as he's too expensive, but maybe Kimmich if Walker goes to BM and then i'd go all out for Frimpong. I'd also give Phillips away to leeds. So Walker, Bernie, Nunes, Phillips out; Frimpong, Kimmich, Paqueta in. That would be a lot better financially imo.

I'd prefer to sell/swap Nunes for Orkun Kökçü at Benfica - I keep saying it, he's perfect for us. Pretty much a ready-made Gundo replacement that we should have got last summer instead of wasting money on Nunes. In terms of Paqueta and/or Guimaraes? Neither thanks.

Get rid of Grealish and Doku and get some decent wingers to feed Haaland. Never mind midfielders. KDB Foden Bernardo Rodri are great. Nunez Kovacic can also come. Should never have let Gundo go and given him a two year contract. Couldn’t do much about Mahrez. Poor vision by the management.

My Spanish team is Barça, but if I keep my city hat on I'd say that City should enquire about Gavi or Pedri. Both of Paquetá qnd Bruno would be great as well. They're on a pre-City Rodri level.

Can't see it, he's more of the destroyer type, which is useful but not when you plan on having 70% of the possession, we definitely need to cover for Rodri, because we can't keep playing him in 95% of the games and expect him to stay fit and maintain his level

Feels a bit of recency Bias on Nunes, Gundogan and Foden were not these elite players when we first got them. Very few players are. He might not get to the level we need and I don't think he will tbf, but it's daft pretending they were that good season one. If he has another year he looks a lot better, it's not like Phillips where he never even fancied him in training. He doesn't seem lost or as overwhelmed playing in the system either, he is simply not an expert with it yet. I remember many times when Gundo was considered too limited before he added goals to his game in his later seasons. Time jusy may not be on his side to adapt his game to what we want, I dont think he isnt good enough. 6/7 options for our most important position isn't that much of a squad overload. Kovacic can play with 3 other midfielders when Stones isn't fit (a lot of the time) I don't see why we would force him out unless we needed to loosen a wage bill, BC we won't get a profit on him and he is a different dimension from our other profiles. If we sell and then one of those guys doesn't work out are we then not in the same position when we don't have enough. Saying this think he definitely might be shifted if Bernardo somehow stays but I dont think he will.

Would take them both. Imo it's not so nuch ehat they are capable of now. It's what Pep can turn them into. I've been watching bother for quite some years now and they both have another level they can reach here at City. Would rather eant Kimmich than Bruno G but he will do the job if it's him we'll sign. Im sure of it. Pep is a master a what he does.

I don't think either one of them move the needle enough for me. None of them come to mind when I think about midfielders in the PL good enough to do what Pep demands of our midfielders. They both feel like a Nunes or KP signing to me.

Both are press resistant technicians. Phillips and Nunes are different profiles, Kalvin turned out not to be up to it but Nunes can still provide what his profile is suited to when that's required. I believe Doku and Nunes were signed this summer to combat low blocks, whereas Paqueta and Bruno are replicating what we currently use

Paqueta is a no for me now, Nunes has potential and i hate to right off a player so quickly but we cant afford a 3rd flop if Paqueta dosnt adapt, for an extra 30-40 mill we could pick up Mucuala who is much younger giving pep a player to mold and he is already playing at the highest level with Bayern so the transition has less risk Bruno G i would be happy with but for 100 mill seems too much, Mahamadou Susoho is looking good in our youth academy and so imo i would love to sign someone like joshua kimmich would be a great signing as the experience would not only be fantastic for the squad but being a similar hight Susoho could learn alot from him

Not sure, can he defend? can only remember the luton f up! the player will need to want to do that also. I'd see if he could be used if the Paqueta deal happens.

@@stukay1005 the Luton f up was because of a bad touch and I'm pretty sure he has better touch than walker. You take away walkers pace and he isn't a good defender either. If pep can work with him and nunes is willing I think he can turn into a fullback
