Parabol - Pause - Parabola: My Tool Transition Fail

It's been a looong time, but since The Great Lateralus Take Down of June 2021, I decided to play it safe and wait to post this until all the copyright stuff was taken care of. Which brings us to today. Enjoy my failed attempt to listen to one song right after the other. This was indeed epic, but I have a feeling I'll be chasing my Lateralus experience from here on out.
Thanks for your patience between uploads, Tool Army. I am NOT dealing with another blocked Tool video, so this is the way it's gotta be. Grrr. Hope it was worth the wait. "The Grudge" is up next. :D Followed by Stinkfist and Jambi. My next one is Right in Two---haven't filmed that one yet!

This is the rollercoaster song. Parabol is that part at the beginning where you climb to the top and Parabola is the rest of the ride, twisting, turning, diving, it's all there in one glorious ride. Definitely a song the more you listen the more it can be appreciated. Love the rush! (I said that BEFORE you mentioned Rush)

Maynard does all the vocals for Tool. It's multiple tracks of his voice. The only time another member of the band sings is when Justin does backing vocals for You Lied; but that's because that song is from Justin's old band, Peach, where he also sang backing vocals on it.

Great reaction. Parabol seemed like a prayer to me. Definite middle-eastern vibes with the vocals and the digeridoo was great and right on time. My take on these 2 songs is Parabol is a person in the womb then gets born in Parabola. It might be that Parabol is missing the A until you get born. Every human has an arc of a lifetime, Parabola, but has their own story Parable. Yea the Grudge is next.

Wings for Marie and 10,000 days is a very emotional song that brings out a lot of feelings. Justin is the driving force for that song but really the whole band's performance for that song is a masterpiece.

Me - I like the drums. DC is the GOD. But, no matter how we each slice and dice it - Adam is the main force behind the Tool sound. LUV how his guitar sometimes "sounds" like lasers coming out of the woods and into the heavens. Great reaction, Lauren. If you really like transitions, then you might give Rosetta Stoned a try. If you thought Lateralus was overwhelming,wait until you hear this one. This should be listened in combination with Lost Keys (and some Tool fans include Lipan conjuring for completeness' sake). Beware, though, this is "fear and loathing in Las Vegas" for your ears.

Awesome!! Finally I get a Tool video. You probably did here Rush vibes. Danny was very much influenced by Neil Peart of Rush and John Bonham of Led Zepplin. Also the harmonizing you heard was created in post production. Vocal layering of Maynard. If you want another great progressive Tool song, react to Pushit (salival version). As a lifelong Tool Army member, I loved the video and hope to see more!!

I can definitely relate to the writing roller coaster of emotions. I published my first novel a couple years ago about to publish my second and it is very time-consuming and drains me physically and emotionally. Well, everyone knows that about Lateralus, but did you know that Parabol actually uses the Yellowstone Permutation Integer Sequence then connects to Parabola using the Padovan Sequence and Perrin Sequence?! Once you know this, it's so obvious and add extra layers and depths to the song, hence the titles "Parabol" and "Parabola". Ha! That was fun. Anyway, great video and worth the wait. Also, understandable decision on Wings for Marie. That song never bothered me until a few years ago, but man... you get to a certain age and certain realities start to set in. It's tough, so yeah, as always you should do whatever is best for you and we should all respect it. You have some great songs on the list, so I'm looking forward to all of them!

Tool certainly have got their own style. Maynard has got that one in a million voice, but I can never get out of my head listening to this band. That's more my thing than a Tool's thing of course. They are really good, but their songs just don't touch that special musical spot in me like Opeth does. No offence.
