Physics on Khan Academy: Physics is the study of the basic principles that govern the physical world around us. We'll start by looking at motion itself. Then, we'll learn about forces, momentum, energy, and other concepts in lots of different physical situations. To get the most out of physics, you'll need a solid understanding of algebra and a basic understanding of trigonometry.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.
For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

I watched this to learn about parabolic mirrors, but in addition to that it was the first video I've seen that properly and clearly explains how real images work. Thanks a lot!

Is this how satellite dishes work? Do they pool up the energy and it reflects onto the single focus, giving a clear signal?

if real images formed by concave mirrors are located on front of the mirror, why do we see the image on the mirror itself, as if it were located behind the mirror?

Sal, I don't know what software you are using, but often times shift and alt shift allow you to form a straight line (vertical and horizontal, respectively). I love your videos. :D

have you ever seen a good concave mirror? Unless you're very close to it, you can't see your image clearly in the mirror, it's all a blurry mess

Another cool thing about a paraboloid is that it is a 3-D cross-section of a 4-D cone

But how is it different when reflected light on a normal flat mirror (which forms virtual image) and I put a paper or wall and the light reflects onto it, than reflected light on a convex or concave mirror which at a point meets and reflects onto another thing like you said a wall or cloth, can't both mirrors have the reflected light go onto another object?
