Say Mark, I’ve had an experience with my former teacher from the NY and Buffalo philharmonic. He was having a rant on Neal Peart and was demonstrating the Bolero to be played for pppp to FFFF across four minutes. It’s harder than it sounds. Stewart Copeland said to the effect, “The hardest thing for a drummer is to play a piece for three minutes straight with NO variations or fills.” Thanks for the paradiddles and give it a try.

Imagine if you had a pad that connects to the camera to make drum sounds without having to add a click track, even though this video only has a click track.

Such fantastic control! I wish we were neighbors,,,now that I'm elderly I notice my left hand,(conventional grip) is sloppy. My diddles always seem to turn into rolls until I back out of them and slow down. it's like starting all over,,practice slowly,,practice slowly. But you are an inspiration man,,do you have recent posts? All the ones I find are several years old,,but all are excellent. The rhythm background you add in your lessons makes the workouts very enjoyable. Im sure kids all over watch your lessons! Never had this option when I started out at 8 years old, lol. Be well Marcus,,stay safe.

It sounds unreal. How do you play this without the accents on the pa? i never heard anything like it. Goodness. What is open close open?
@marcushawkinsmusic5 жыл бұрын
peter four what you are hearing in this video is the click track not the pad. Open to close means open space between notes (slow) to close space between notes (fast) . Hope this helps!!

Again, the secret is white sticks. Black and natural won’t cut it.
