I wish they had flags to show nationalities on KZbin. I'd like to know where who Im typing to is from. USA right here. A drummer and programmer. I got into DnB in 2000. As soon as I heard Paradox I knew he was on some other sh-t. I think he's the best on the drums. Tell me if I'm wrong.

Imagine a Photek/Paradox collab ? Ultimate drum sequencing

1997 was an unbelievable year for DnB. Competition makes a better marketplace! And yeah I instantly felt like a screwed my brothers sister when I said Paradox was the best at drums. Photek's touch is like a great football goal. It's as soft or hard as it needs to be to get it in every note. He is a master and I'd hate to be the track after him in a mix. You sound like any pub band performing after the Beatles.

lol, photek is a top boy. dillinja, and roni size were great crafts man with breaks too round about that time. Photek is definitely unbeatable

This reminds me just a teensy bit of Source Direct's Stonekiller.

Be sure to check the flipside "Paradox - One Step Beyond". It's one of Paradox's hidden gems. Highly recommended.

Paradox's drum kit selection and variety stand out but it often sounds compressed so you don't get the air between the notes that Photek masters. I was listening to Mine To Give and Can't Come Down from Photek's Solaris. Even on a House beat his timing is flawless.

nice observations sir

Can't say I agree with you there. It's definitely not a compression thing.

cause photek was obsessed with taking different hits from different breaks/kits. paradox is all about taking a single break and pushing it to the limit ;)
@claypowell53506 жыл бұрын
that is a genius observation. i inherently knew that, but didnt know how to formulate words for it.

Well you can always check a persons channel. Most channel owners have added their nationality to their profile info. But I'm from the Netherlands anyway. Sure Paradox is one of the finest drum programmers in the biz but personally I like Photek's style just a little better, but they are both grandmasters with their own unique style. But if you really like drumming + DnB you should really check out your fellow countryman "KJ Sawka" here on youtube if you haven't already. The man's a riot.
