1. You need to weld that seam to prevent the unibody seam from spreading/cracking. 2. You have to test wheel rubbing with the suspension under load.

RE-WELD THOSE SEAMS
@turbophl72593 ай бұрын
Erm... Doesn't look like you are exposing cracks, you have cut off the seam that joins two panels together. Might want to get that welded up!

100% i was screaming nooooo at my TV he cut pinch welds they are there for the structure of the car .. he definitely needs to weld it up .. this is not hate at all I support him just a safety thing

@pistolgripjoe hate is used like the word racist, it has no meaning anymore.

U will 150% want to have that joint re-welded by a professional, cuz u need the rigidity to remain the same and not pull apart. Especially if u go with a more hp motor. Stay away from caulk as it will contaminate the surface and make it more difficult to have welded. good luck, looks really good.

I agree. For as patient as he was for this entire build and doing things right, I think he should do the same for those trim pieces. It's just going to be more headache down the line.

All that cutting and removing of metal needs to be welded and strengthened, that stiff suspension can cause stress cracking and spreading of seam. Nice build I appreciate you sharing all the intricacies of your build. Thanks

Keep working those 2 panels on the trunk by sanding it down and round the edges to flow with the quarter panels. its just a little too high.
@ParadoxTheWrapper3 ай бұрын
What’s the best way to sand it so it’s even?
@pault85913 ай бұрын
@@ParadoxTheWrapper A combination of what you were doing at 13:25 by shaving it down. you might be able to slightly adjust the trunk lid so it sits a milimeter or two lower. Either way its looking awesome! great work. Love the progression of this build.

Should’ve grinded the trunk pieces down at the bottom before you glued it on so it sits flush

I would have used 5200 marine adhesive, holds up to water and a pounding, think of a boat in heavy waves, it holds and water proof and would have only cost like 10 bucks more

Dont rush it and actually work the panels and mould them on. lil fiberglass filler so its seemless. you put in like 50 dollars of glue with out prepping the surface mind you to save $2000 but if you didn't actually want to learn how to do it you should of coughed up the dough . even if you spend 4-500 doing it yourself, youda still saved money also weld up those seams or they will fall apart like a wafer
@richard14033 ай бұрын
that boot looks a mess to be fair you need to smooth it all out to the same level and weld the seem
