With these is the original screw pin becoming the inner race? If the answer is YES then it is not going to hold up.

Thanks again for all your great video's you have given me the confidence to remove my r100gs swinging arm / bevel box inspect drive shaft / renued pinion & output seal & torsion arm bushing + fitted the upgraded paralever bearings . All went well . Any chance of a video of manually changing a tyre on your GS ?. Ian.

Hi Ian, yes I’ll do that. Won’t be for a while I’m afraid, but when the time comes for new tyres, I shall video how I change tyres and balance wheels.

Hi, how's it going with the Ariel Arrow and the triple projects? Alex
@motophoenix59518 жыл бұрын
They have been languishing in the shed all summer, whilst I have been off on trips across Europe and Turkey. I expect to start working on them again in about a month or so.

Hello Mate, I'm considering this update and can you inform us that how's it holding up? Any play or noise? Cheers!

Serdar Doğan not good, the threaded alloy pins sheared earlier this summer and I went back to the original BMW bearing. I did publicise the issue on Facebook Airheads BMW page. Motorworks were very concerned about the failure and they did investigate. They reported to me that they were satisfied that the strength of the aluminium material, coming out 5% stronger than the steel in the tests they carried out. However, it was their intention to change over to using steel for the pivots in future.

Moto Phoenix thank you very much for your reply. I'm on the verge of deciding an alternative but it seems like it's not an appropriate option. By the way, I m greatfull for your efforts for sharing a very informative video. Cheers! Serdar

Serdar Doğan you are welcome. Good luck with your search. Btw, I have no doubt about Motorworks integrity, they seemed genuinely surprised and concerned. They did and said all the right things.

Thanks , How do you get the old paralever bush out of the swing arm ( the bits that the new Bronz bush will replace ) Ian.
@motophoenix59516 жыл бұрын
Hi Ian, Apply some heat to the housing , then just tap the races out with a hammer and drift. They should come out easily if you get the surrounding area nice and warm. If you are going to do this modification, make sure you get the latest bush kit with steel pivot pins.

have you heard anything about the new kit with steel studs? thanks
@motophoenix59515 жыл бұрын
Not heard anything bad. Hearsay on line is positive. A friend of mine has just installed one of those kits on his PD, but it is too soon to comment.
