@@shield_maiden_ I honestly don’t have high expectations. I’d take the build tools as they are right now because they already allow for so much cool stuff. I don’t need my paras to live the most exciting lives either, I will enjoy the cozy mood of the game as is. As for the character creator, I don’t really mind if it’s not as good as the Sims, I rarely do create new characters and they don’t have to wear the best outfits or have the most unique face as long as the game allows me to give them personality, which I think Paralives will definitely focus the most on

@@jaybee4288 I agree, I'm at a wait and see stance, it's better not to get your hopes up too much, not with an indie game, a lot of the ones on Steam are scams, they do make them, but put out a bit of a game, but NEVER add to it, so you get stuck not being able to move passed a certain point, I have a few like that, they're really nice games, but it's set up to eventually add more to it, but they don't, and so you can't get passed a certain area of the game, because it's not finished! And they never do finish it either! I have one that is like that, and instead of finishing it, they put out a new version of it, the very next year! But I bought both at the same time, not knowing they neither one had been finished, and they never were either! Since when I bought them it had already been 2 years since the 2nd one came out! And I really loved those games, they're a demolition and building games, like House Flipper, but you actually play in the world, driving to places and working on different projects, the last one even made it where you can play as a woman, not just a man! So because them and others who were a lot worse, I'm not going to let myself get anymore excited about this game! I mean when I saw this, with it just having the house, for 46 seconds, I thought this is just to get more people to join their Patreon, and then it ends with them asking for us to join their Patreon! So yeah I'm kind of over it now!

@@jaybee4288 yeah me too, and I don't think we should get our hopes up too much.... it's a game with a small development team and a lot of high expectations, it does look nice, and I don't think they would put this much work into a scam, but we've yet to see much real gameplay, as in how paras interact with eachother, and what they can do around the house and around town. We also don't know what the price will be when it's released. But the dev team has confirmed things like weather and pets, and that it won't be DLC. Which gives me a lot of hope. But idk, we'll wait til it's released, and we'll see what gets done.

coming away from what other games are doing trending into a more "realistic" vs stylistic art style for a simulation game; paralives folds away from the uncanny valley. On it's own it might seem underdeveloped but when you compare it to other games it makes way more sense for this genre and fits much better.

I'm not a fan of the artstyle, but what I'm a BIG fan of is how properly-sized everything is. In The Sims 4 you have a bunch of stuff that's the wrong size or it looks like it's from a mobile game. Here, objects actually look like they were made to be used by a person. Still, if I had to pick between the two artstyles I'd definitely pick Paralives' over TS4's artstyle. Paralives seems like it has some neat PBR on top of the cartoony stuff, which is miles better than how everything looks matte and flat in TS4.

I love the graphics too. People hate on Sims 4 graphics for being too cartoonish but let's be real- ts4 i cartoonish but Paralives' graphics are even more cartoonish but gets praised lol Love both though

I love the "square-ish" texture of flowers: it may be not very realistic, but the "old game" vibe it gives is totally a plus for me! ❤️

I'm not a fan, but also not _not_ a fan, although I can see how lower poly(?), simpler flowers and stuff would really help the game's performance, and at this point I will definitely take this if I can play without game-breaking lags

I think it clashes too much with the rest of the game, usually you want all models to have a similar amount of detail so everything fits together nicely and here the roses look very low-poly compared to everything else... But that's a tiny detail :-) I only hope the gameplay is being worked on just as much as the visuals so we don't end up with another building sim like TS4.

The progress since 'House Building Gameplay' a year ago. Where that video was a proof of concept, with a house that didn't really look like a house. Here it's showing off all the accomplishments made during development so far, an actual house with lots of character! This is a game I am really excited to play on release

This is so pretty. The change in artstyle is refreshing even if it’s not my cup of tea. It’s like drinking a nice cold juice when craving a cold drink instead. I really can’t complain because it’s gets the job done and very well! The building and lifestyle in this game is something I really want at the end of the day and I’m just glad it’s coming soon!!

Same The art style isn’t my preference buuuuuut it’s not a deal breaker at all because the art is still well done and hopefully, easier for them to work with. There can always be skins and mods that can be added later but nothing can replace good game design and game play!

Yes! I remember how Maxis was quite open with Sims 2 development and this gives that same feel of being on their forum and talking to the devs about the game and what was coming and all that. I miss that, but Paralives is really bringing that feeling back. I'm actually excited about the game! And that's the biggest thing.

The music is just so chilling and relaxing. I cannot wait to get my hands on the soundtrack. So many favourite things but those lights.... the fact that we get table ones and matching swinging ones in the garden is just wow. chefs kiss. Aww this is so cute! I love all the plants and especially the ivy crawling up the house! I'm also really happy to see a recycling bin in addition to a regular garbage one! Recycling is super important. I'm also noticing the spandril? Whatever the decorate ornament thingy is called that is in the peak of the roof! And the latticed wall at the side of the porch! Definitely gives the house an older feel.

Even though it's got that cartoony look, it's far better then sims, because the items and furniture is normal stuff and not designer or crazy out of this world furniture like sims has! Can't wait for this game to come out!!

I've already seen this on patreon but I nearly cried AGAIN at how beautiful this is. I'm so freaking excited. Highly recommend supporting them on patreon if you have the spare cash, they are super good at listening to what we want with polls and such, and it's so interesting to see the behind-the-scenes of making a game. Also for those who are asking for gameplay details... let me just say that all the public information is a few months behind the patreon 🤐
