One extra Maegor/Gregor parallel: issues with their heads that appear to exacerbate their violent tendencies. a) Obv you mentioned Maegor getting his catastrophic brain injury during the trial by Seven, and it's notable that after that incident his brutality takes a definite uptick. b) Meanwhile Gregor suffers from regular blinding headaches and is clearly sensitive to noise because of it, being particularly prone to massively violent outbursts whenever anyone is too loud or talkative around him.

I was thinking of him too when he said Maegor was the biggest Targaryen. Maelys was described with "grotesquely huge torso" and "inhumanly strong", so I guess he probably was bigger.

Eddard stark's parallel lives with; Theon (a ward), the Hound (a second son and "hell hound"/ direwolf), Edric Dayne/Edric Storm (it's in the name). Ashara Dayne paralel with; Sansa The brotherhood without banners and the Kingswood brotherhood. Robert Baratheon and Ramsey ("I want my bride back"). Crazy, right?
