+OldSchoolLimp I believe he can walk again, even if forbid, it does not happen until he is on his deathbed. But if for some reason he never does here on earth, I believe he can still be of inspiration to those of similar situations, for he is dictating his physical being and it not dictating him. Just like, I'm almost the 4-0, but my age is not going to decide that I am getting old. I'm going to dictate my age, and as long as I live, I shall never put old and myself in the same sentence, even if I do have arthritis and couple other chronic physical things now. He is not living by how his body is working, he is living by his spirit, and so blessed to see, he will do everything he can to the best he truly can and not slow down because of challenges. I can see his own version of excellent inspiration.

I remember my football coach would always tell us that if we couldn't see the player, then don't hit him. Eric broke his neck because he hit somebody with the top of his head instead of with his face mask. If you play football, always keep that tip in mind.
@ndaddict19 жыл бұрын
not trying to start an argument but i don't think looking up..as your going full speed...crouched over..would he LESS harmful than with your head down....it's not like if your looking up instead of down your neck muscles become invincible..if it was meant to be..it was meant to be..
@Mrwiseguy1016909 жыл бұрын
ndaddict1 No, it would be a lot less harmful. It may still cause harm but not as much as looking down. Coach said that hitting somebody with the top of your head causes the shock to go to your spine while hitting with your facemask causes the shock to go to your neck muscles.
@ndaddict19 жыл бұрын
BuildMeASnowmanBiatch yeah i thought it about it after i sent that and realized its probably more stress on the spine and vertebrae as were looking up would just mash your face into the guy lol..still hard because instinct tells you otherwise so it's hard to have correct form every single tackle attempt

Eric- Kudos my friend on your positive attitude. It will see you one day standing on your own. In 1978 I was 16 and played football. I broke my neck in 3-separate places in a accident. I was paralyzed from the neck down and given absolutely no chance of recovering any function if I survived the 12-hour reconstructive surgery to rebuild my neck. It took 2-years and 3100 hours of therapy before I could stand and take a step. I'm 56 today and with age it's getting harder. That said, I know what you're going through and feeling. PERSISTENCE- DETERMINATION & POSITIVE ATTITUDE will overcome anything doctors may say about not regaining function. I was seeing solid and measurable improvement 10-12 years post accident. You have my prayers, best wishes, and absolute respect for your continued successes. William Sturman ~

As a quadriplegic myself all I can say is life's a bitch. Fortunately for him he was injured in the first game at MetLife stadium and got a lot of television coverage. This has given him many more avenues for rehabilitation options that otherwise are far to expensive for a regular spinal cord injured person. Hope everything goes well for this young man given the severity of his injury. I started out with the dream of walking now I'd kill to use my hands again. Crippin ain't easy

Story time My dad got into a hit and run accident 4years ago (he was the victim) everyone said he wouldn't walk again everyone doubted him but guess what. One year later with hard work and mentalising him one step at a time he regained control over his body again everyday he went to therapy at the hospital, everyday he mentalities himself that he would walk again and provide for me and my siblings and mom. And now he's working back at construction. Does it hurt sometimes? Yes is it hard for him yes. But he is stubborn and didn't let his issue get in the way of his life. Don't ever say you can't do anything because if my dad and the young gentlemen did what they did in the video than we can do anything.
