His wife is amazing ! I was diagnosed with two different types of cancer at the same time. My wife at the time would not even hug me,let alone dance with me. She divorced me with in a year and tried to take our son away from me. Against all odds I survived ! By the time my son was three I had full custody of him and raised him by myself. He is now twenty years old . I am now engaged to a lady that I dated back In 1988 ! I found her on Facebook and things are great. Never give up !

Words can never describe the integrity of the wives who stay by their man in such situations. This speaks volumes of how profoundly grounded she is to enact a situation others would run from. From the outside, I feel a real pride for you both and a respect for the kinship you have together that, despite all else, this only made you stronger.

Im in tears.....my Uncle, 47 years a Quadriplegic died in March. His girl left, his daughter in tow but he remained an ever present father, advocate for spinal cord injuries, amd so much beyond & more. He never stopped. He sky dived, painted with his mouth (works sold for charities of the disable), he sailed a historic boat 200 miles, he skied in the mountains of many states, he drove, Although he never stood again, HE LIVED, HE STRIVED, longer, more adventurous, aware than those without these disabilities. Remember so many capabilities within so many capacities with any disability. Never give up. Love Thy Self, his last words to me.

Excellent post, Gertrudes90. Very well-said. You're right. All those factors played a key to him getting stronger & better. The guy's heart, bravery, strength to tackle & overcome. The doctors & the outside of the box treatment. And to his girlfriend who later became his wife. Unconditional love from his gal & unconditional support from family & medical doctors from Arkansas to California helped this man become stronger & have never give up attitude. This is a great real life story!

I'm so glad his girlfriend (later wife) never abandoned him & said as long as his mind & heart were still the same, then she would stick with him. He fought & battled & used his mind, heart, & willpower to tackle obstacles & he later married his girlfriend. She is such a nice gal with a good heart. I'm proud of him for never giving up!
