Wow life and adulthood has been so overwhelming lately, but when I listen to this song, I am reminded that it is a universal feeling we all experience. Ain’t it fun to all be on this journey together? If you are reading this, I am sending you all the love and positive vibes - and I hope you conclude your days with a smile on your face.

She’s so nice, (she came at the restaurant i was working for in Brooklyn NYC) I offered her a dessert and left her a note “thank you for the music i love you” she actually saved that piece of paper in her phone case and i saw it months after in one of her selfies in front of the mirror , she still had it ❤️

These commenter are crazy, this is by far the best song on Paramore's new album, and the best song they've ever done for that matter. The lyrics are satirical, the entire song is catchy, and it's different than most generic 'pop songs'. I don't even consider this pop, I just consider it Paramore's own genre, really. The ending is compelling with the choir, the build up, and Hayley's awesome vocals. I hope they do more songs like this on their next album! Hayley can pretty much do anything at this point. The video is pretty cute too, it's great to see Hayley dancing to the rhythm.
@briarrose701610 жыл бұрын
***** I don't think my copy has "Escape Route" on it, I don't recognize that track, now I have to go back and find it! You're correct, music is subjective, and it's just my opinion that this song is their best, but that's mainly my excitement speaking. Their best in terms of what? Catchiness, satire, depth, vocal ability. I think their best in terms of instrumentation would probably be Part II or Future, and Future is reminiscent of Deftones or Tool for me, as far as being progressive. Very cool! It's really sad and depressing that people just listen to the radio singles for every band, I find myself asking everyone "Well...have you heard the entire album? Then, you don't really know"...Christina Aguilera, for instance. Surely a pop singer, right? Well her Back to Basics album had serious soul, gospel and jazz elements to it, but with a modern twist. You're absolutely right, two people in the pop genre will not sound exactly the same, so who cares if they are categorized in such a broad term? Does anyone even know what the term pop means anymore? It's not a negative thing, we should just be glad the artists we love continue to make music. If we decide we don't like an entire album after giving it a chance, we can move on to new artists or just keep an open mind. It's so simple, I hate seeing so many band haters on youtube, whining about "selling out". It's called EVOLVING, there's a difference.
@OvercastGirlAKAmaura10 жыл бұрын
***** Thank you! You are one of the only non-exclusive people in the comments (and by that I mean only sticking with a few genres, and being ignorant about the others). I agree with you all the way and it really bugs me how people still think that 2000's pop-punk is punk rock... Ugh. No offense at all to pop-punk, as I love that type of music as well, it just angers me a bit how people don't notice a difference. And I agree with the last line so much that I almost can't explain. It's like bands aren't allowed to do what they actually wanted to do in the first place without being hounded on for "selling out". But really, you give me a bit more hope that there's intelligent people out there. xD

This perfectly encapsulates the transition from high school to outside these days. Public school is a bubble and most people goof off only to get hit by reality afterwards, and these lyrics perfectly explain the way it is. It's not only high school. It's the transition from school in general, to work. Possibly even the difference between living with your parents, and living on your own. It's basically telling you that you aren't necessarily as grown up as you think you are. Even after entering my 20s, it's still an upbeat/motivating song imo. Shit happens...time to figure it. I only got one life to live.

@@technoyaoidream A lot of special people in these comments seem to think this song is supposed to be upbeat or motivational smh

Song hits harder going into your 20’s. Especially being a college student, you have all the freedom you’ve ever wished for when you were a kid, but now you have to worry about making ends meet.

Don't be too sad about it. College years is probably going to be the best years you'll ever have, I know I did. You'll meet lots of people, experience lots of things, maybe you'll find your life partner, you'll have the time of your life since you're practically an unemployed adult with all the time in the worlds, don't worry too much about grades, you'll do good as long as you'll do it step by step.

Graduating and moving out jobless in the middle of a financial crisis and a pandemic :) It's lonely, terrifying and fulfilling all at once
