Well, it makes sense why this was barely promoted. With films like this, Wonder Park and Rumble and trying to bury all evidence of the existence of Under the Boardwalk, it makes me wonder why Paramount even made their own animation studio if they really don’t care that much about animation? And keep in mind part of the reason they let go of Dreamworks Animation was so they could create their own animated studio after the success of Rango.

In my opinion, maybe have a movie involving a cat as the main villain because they're the only animal from the thirteen in the race that didn't have a role on the twelve winners. The author of the book came by to my school and we had a conference in our library and I asked so many questions about her work. Throughout the convention she told us how the investors treated her badly and I think her book has some great potential seeking within her book but not at the right spot

Fruits Basket (anime/manga) did the whole Chinese Zodiac better. And dude is basically a Gary Stu. Even if in some places the Rooster is also represented by the Phoenix, they are two distinct animals and there's no logic in guarding a Phoenix egg and still have a chicken in the movie. It's like in some places they use the cat instead of the rabbit, but you'd never get a region that uses both. My point is, the story sounds like someone wanting to use an Asian theme without doing proper research.

When you were cancellation beginning, I was genuinely confused because that was the art isn’t completely mind blowing the sky. I was wondering what standard you were using to call them bad or cheap because they look pretty grounded within their world and moving around and then when you showed the more stylized graphic scenes with interesting visual movement etc. I was like okay it’s definitely not that bad 😭 that being said it reminded me of raya (which I’m still not a fan of) but better? It’s really the story for me and how effectively the charcters and the elements within that story get that across for me.

Yeah no I’m actually convenience from the clips that the animation is not that bad at all especially for the vibes they’re going for and the fact that it’s not from some established animation studio. But the story it’s conveying through this medium can diminish how you view the animations and the graces you were willing to give it. Something can have style but if it’s being used to carry absolutely nothing then it might look worse than it is

@@uberrex8073 Take a look at the trailer, honestly, it’s a genuine improvement. Waterfield has put the budget to damn good use. The roster of killers is expanded, the character designs look incredible (Winnie has actual fur and prosthetics and these creepy eyelids and claws and such, as opposed to being a big old man in a rubber mask, they’re actually getting a lot more creative with the kills (an example is when Winnie the Pooh enters a party wielding a bear trap on a chain, swings it at a girl and it closes on her head halfway through, then he pulls and rips her head clean off) the new actors look really good, the story is more interesting and it just looks fun. They aren’t trying to be as serious and dramatic this time, they’re having a lot more fun with it. Winnie the Pooh wields a freaking FLAMING CHAINSAW at one point. Before I was just excited for a shitty watch to laugh at, now I’m genuinely excited.

Honestly, there's a good movie in there, they just needed to give the script another look-over. It felt in-between drafts a couple of tweaks would've fixed. (And also the Continuity-Director was asleep at the wheel bc models kept having scars disappear and reappear. Shout out to the Horse who's looking in the wrong direction at the endings climax)

Sun Wukong’s boa staff is actually just the shrunken down pillar of a dragon’s palace so who knows if thsi movie actually did research that deep. I'm sorry to say that this movie...was a disappointment - almost as much as a disappointment as its predecessor "Rumble". The story was pretty predictable, the characters were bland, the music wasn't very good, the humor was barely clever, and the voice acting could have used some more work. The action scenes, while they could be good, were mostly boring (almost like it was performed by amateurs). The only really good thing about the movie were the designs; especially that of Mr. Hu, who basically looked like the lovechild of Wolverine and Shang-Chi - and I guess that the animation was passable as well. There were just so many things that just didn't work at all. It was almost like the people working on this movie wanted to focus more of the humor than the story, and the world building. I guess that would explain why everything felt rushed - from the chemistry building between Tom and Räv, to the mentoring of Tom with the Zodiacs - heck, Tom doesn't even train with all of the Zodiacs, and it's barely even a day until he starts mastering his powers. And there really isn't any or enough explaining over what is going on, what is going to happen, or how it all even started - I mean let's get some back story on all the Zodiacs, and how they came to be (and give them better personalities and catchphrases and comebacks while you're at it). Honestly, the worst character for me was the Goat - that character didn't talk or communicate, it just blew stuff up; which gave me the strong impression that it was mentally disturbed - seriously, why would they have someone like that on the team? It was like this movie was trying to be a cheap/Chinese version of "Into The Spider-Verse"; which is by far a superior animated film. Why not have the Tom character be like a loner who became aware of his powers and his responsibilities when he turned thirteen, and was originally raised by his parents who sacrificed themselves to protect him - this gives him a reason to be looked after by his grandmother, who also currently trains him. But Tom has trouble fitting in (as well as keeping his powers under control) because of his temper; due to the trauma he felt from losing his parents - that might make him relate to Hu much more. Plus, a nice romance between Hu and Mistral would have been nice to see - maybe they were an item in the beginning, but have been doing a whole on-and-off thing for years 'cause Hu always pushes people away when things get too complicated - that being said Mistral has only ever loved Hu, and that's why she still believes in him; and still wants to be with him. Also, why not have the Zodiacs more in their human form while being in the human world? Why were they animals in practically most of the movie? Plus, I feel that it would have been better if the Zodiacs had both human and animal characteristics while in their Zodiac form; only becoming full animal in times of crisis. And so, when Tom finally faced the threat, he could have been better prepared, and if Hu still have part of his life to save him...he should have gonw from regular Tiger to full on White Tiger. And Hu didn't have to raise Tom by himself...Mistral could have decided to stay with them - that way Tom gets both a father and mother figure in his new life. That, to me, might have made the movie better.

You should watch the first movie(special) of LEGO Monkie Kid. Great animation and scene fights, the pacing is a bit fast because it's just for you to want to watch the series. BUT it's good. 2D animation from the studio that worked on Rise of the TMNT. Very funny, awesome visual gags, 4 seasons. Love it.

What happened to Paramount’s art style? It doesn’t have the same details and texture as Rumble aside from the hair and it looks more like a video game. But at the same time the story, fictional world and character designs seem more original and brings back nostalgia in terms of how the backdrops look like, so it’s giving me hope for Paramount animated movies.

But they have zero interest in hiring good writers, the rest of their exclusive catalog suffers from many of the same issues. Honestly? I was really excited about it. Then I watched it. I liked the characters and the designs, especially Dragon and Monkey, they were fun. My problem is that we only got to see the human forms of four Zodiacs, and for a movie that was about the TWELVE ZODIACS, that’s pretty bad. The animation was great, and Tiger was cool, but we barely got to see the other Zodiacs. In all honesty, I hope this gets a show so they can flesh out the other Zodiacs because I am GENUINELY curious about them. I really wanted them to make the movie good because once again I am GENUINELY curious about the other Zodiacs.

the composition and light is amazing though,the quality of the animation can be questioned but we canot denie artistic quality on the visuals,altough the designs are honestly weak the camera angles are really good,the colors composition is decent( carried by the lightd a nd shades )and the movement is surprisingly well done,again the quality fails sometimes,but they have unique and expressive movemment that makes some of the fighting choreografy good,for me the weakest fighting is done by the main cast, they dont have really unique body-types or striking techiques(its all just common,kinda generic martial arts) so they fall behind the villaness is really cool and well-composed visually,unfortunate that her story is so agressively mid

Actually,if it wasn't for Brian Robbins,we could've got this(and Under The Boardwalk)promoted more in advertising and on the big screen. If Brian Robbins wants to handle animation better,he needs to rebrand Nickelodeon and change it back to the way it is as a variety channel and start a Nicktoons renaissance and restarting it again like it was in 91' with a new Nicktoons block(along with reverting Nicktoons Network back to it's original glory),since i'm tired of Nick mistreating it's cartoons since 2005-2006 and needs to stop screwing Nicktoons over and relying too much on SpongeBob and Loud House. Also,Brian needs to focus on original animated movies more than IP animated films for Paramount Animation and stop giving original animated films the Paramount+ treatment. At least Brian isn't as bad as the current head of WBD, David Zaslav,just incompetent and lazy and relying too much on IP than originality. I didn't hate The Tiger's Apprentice,just found it okay,not as great as Rango and Under The Boardwalk.

So far, i saw it 2 times. It's fine! I liked the action, Huu| Tiger and Naomi| Monkey but the pacing is too fast. Not enough scenes of Tom and his grandma... i wasn't sad that she got killed by the villain. Speaking of Lu, she is a bit boring. We don't know where she lived, what her motivations are and why she hated the zodiac animals. Her design is fine but that's it! The girl is useless. She is not funny, brave, clumsy or interresting. Remove her from the movie and it won't change the story 😐 The music doesn't go well with the fantasy. If it was chinese music while Tom is training ok but there's a lot of pop songs. Overall, this film is not amazing and creative but not awful either. It's fine. I give it 6|10.
