I'd like to bring up a point TheUnluckyTug brought up in his review of the movie. It still follows up a common theme of old Pixar movies of 'What would the life be like this thing?' Toy Story is what it would be like being a toy? What would it like to be a bug? A monster? A fish? A superhero? Here, instead of making the story about the driver of the racecar, they make the story about the racecar instead. What would it like to be a car or racecar?

I think this is definitely the top Pixar movie in terms of nostalgia. The mass merchandise alone could get you nostalgic even if you never watched the first movie. People state the rules of the universe drag this movie down, and.. yes it can get confusing if you get REALLY deep, but I think if you just accept their direction and surface level changes that are obvious enough like "oh, so that's this worlds interpretation of this thing of the real world", then it shouldn't be much of an issue. Other than that, this is my favorite Pixar movie by far and is one of my Pixar's best in my opinion. The story is sweet and simple, the characters are fun and relatable, it's funny, the score is an eargasm, KACHIGGA, the 18 year old animation was incredible for it's time and still holds up great today, the opening scene is perfect, and the ending is so wholesome. It may have been the biggest outlier in Pixar's golden era but it was still good anyway and it benefited. I _absolutely_ love Cars.

I think the real problem with the movie was the flawed world building. That's why people question it. This idea could work if it had better world building. I think it's the major flaw with Cars imo.

Despite the pacing, I love the atmosphere of Radiator Springs and McQueen’s character arc throughout the film. I adore this movie to death even it has issues I can’t help but enjoy the childhood nostalgia of Cars.

I’m gonna be honest, the best part of this film for me is that first third. The atmosphere, the visuals, the way it pumps up the audience into getting excited for the race, it’s a perfect introduction to the world. I’m not even a NASCAR person, I don’t know anything about race cars! But I was ALL on board for everything going on in that first race. After the highway montage, though, the movie sort of loses me. I don’t know, it seems to lose steam after that point, and even during the final race towards the end, I’m not feeling the same excitement. It’s not a bad film, just sort of okay.
