Erm, the movie isn't scary at all, it could seriously have been avoided if the boyfriend wasn't so stupid and using a that damn board and trying to talk to it, it basically invites them in, once they are in, they will fight to stay.

This movie is the only one of them that I waytched,it was done by an Isralie director and it was also filmed in his home. This was his creation and his baby as it were and after that he produced the others I do beleive. Hello to you from Israel Kristen. I love this movie because you don't actually see the thing you are meant to be scared of and that makes the imagination have to fill in the blanks. I do not beleive in demons myself but I do beleive in evil spirits and yes there is a difference. Must have been hard growing up in a haunted house. I was always able to see ghosts from the age of 5-8 and now I just sense them which makes it even more annoying because I can sense them watching me but I can't tell where they are and when they are angry it makes it more scary because I can't see where it's coming from. The husband was right though at times when you bring in a specilist to handle the spirits it makes things worse. None the less the husband shouldn't have done the things he did to contact the 'demon' because that is always a bad idea when dealing with angry or evil spirits. Any ways grate reaction as always.

I also grew up in a haunted house. I don't even think I realized the place was really haunted until I was home alone one day and just kind of noted that faucets were turning on and off, footsteps, doors opening and shutting and it finally registered. Some days we could see their actual shadows but only the kids could see it. There was only one room that we never used for anything other than storage. I slept in there one time when I was feeling brave and there was that feeling of something sitting on my chest and my foot was grabbed by something that left nail marks. To this day I can't sleep with any appendage hanging off the bed and if I get a heavy feeling in a room I can't be in it. None of the ghosts scared me except for whatever was in that room.

its not ghosts its jinn's they do live in houses. my mom had that problem with her when she sleeps like something heavy choking her and just weird presence even though we all lived there but no one felt it.( i've read somewhere they usually target females) not sure though. i seen a huge fire in a room once but there was nothing on fire like nothing at all the room was completely empty. the owner said yea it happens sometimes its haunted. lol

I’ve definitely had a paranormal experience. When I was younger I walked into my room one night to go to bed and saw a small black child shaped figure in my room. I turned on the lights and it disappeared. Not too long after, I woke up in the middle of the night and it was standing by my nightstand next to my bed. It knocked my Bionicle toy to the floor, I turned on the light on my night stand and it disappeared. I haven’t seen it again, yet…

Your personal stories are intense, but even more intense that there's more than one story, which leads me to believe that it centers around you. I personally don't believe in demons (I believe they're thoughtforms at most, maybe look that up), but I do believe in ghosts (and angels). You have a ton of light, love, and humor in you, and I suspect a spiritual side that is more powerful than you realize. I imagine that these are the sort of things that would cause ghosts to be attracted to you. You take this spiritual side with you wherever you go, bringing light and love to other [living] people in your life--which is about 99% how God uses your abilities. Ghosts and interactions with them are a miniscule part of your life and simply serve to confirm your inner light. If your grandpa warned you about the dead bodies on your property, he's most likely sensitive like you, maybe something passed down in your family tree. If this is indeed a God-given gift, all the traits necessary for someone with a gift like yours would be present--such as your ability to recover from these situations quickly and laugh about it when you describe your experiences to others. You don't seem to think you're courageous about these kinds of things, but rather just a normal person going through a normal life who just happens to have ghost stories in your past. I think ghosts scare people because their attempts at communicating with us are unnatural. If I was a ghost and was lost, I would try different things to try to make contact and get help for my situation of being dead but still floating around helplessly. Light-filled people like you present the best possibility for them to be heard. And I don't think you're being followed--like the girl was in the movie--you just end up in locations that have their own specific spirits that are trapped there and can't leave. When you come on the scene, they are suddenly filled with hope that they might somehow get rest from their suffering. If you truly do have a gift, these are not coincidences but synchronicities. I went through an experience like that with my ex-wife shortly after we met. She said she felt a ghost, and I walked her through the steps of helping the ghost go to the light (a cliché, but still very much true). I had never done anything like that, and to this day I don't know if there actually was a ghost, or if there was, whether or not I actually helped. But unlike me, if you encounter another ghost and decide to try to help it move on, I suspect that you will definitely feel it. You will sense the ghost's presence and have no doubt that it is real. After helping to release it, you will know in your heart that you truly did heal someone and give them peace. If this resonates with you, then I'm glad I could share it with you. If not, then just ignore it. Love and light to you and your loved ones! ❤

Feet? There isnt a reason other than men tend to like womens legs and feet while women like mens arms and hands. Its because they are masculine/feminine body features. When I did my training as a psychologist I specialised in sleep disorders and that feeling you describe of pressure on your chest and not being able to move is sleep paralysis. Bascially you brain decouples from your body during sleep so that you dont run around when you dream and hurt yourself. Sometimes when you wake from disturbed sleep you can experience this, I have twice in my life. Basically your semi awake but your body hasnt recoupled to your brain yet so you dont have motor control. Its also common to hallucinate during these episodes, the most common thing people see is a dark figure standing by their bed. Thats also what I saw at the time, which turned out to be someones T Shirt hanging on a line in the room.

It's not just a "guy thing," it's a random thing that can apply to any gender. LOL. Many different people have a fascination with feet. Personally, I don't. I'm indifferent and don't have any strong feelings towards them. I neither fetishize them nor find them super gross. I am neutral and don't think about them at all until I'm in the shower washing my own. LOL As far as the "from childhood" theory, not really. People can develop these things over time. Not everything mental can be traced back to childhood. Our brains are complex AF.

That was way better and effective than this jump scare at the end. With the thanks to the cops in the beginning I really thought this was real for a while. Creeped me so much that I couldn't sleep for a week. 🤣🤣🤣 The one you reacted is the theatrical ending I guess. I honestly think it ruined the whole "blurring the lines of reality".

@Merco81 11 ай бұрын
Looking back at this movie it's just amazing how well composed the first expert was in assessing the issue prior to anything happening, and how Micah completely trivialized it and did EXACTLY the opposite of that advice. 1) the demon probably wanted Katie (ignored the warning) 2) Trying to communicate with it will invite it into the house (BOUGHT A FREAKING OUIJA BOARD) 3) Demon feeds on negative energy (Decided to trivialize all of Katie's concerns and built up her stress until the events became to prominent to reverse out or actually follow the advice effectively anymore... the negative energy just compounded the stress which built onto the negative energy) Honestly I felt bad for Micah being put into that situation first time, but on rewatch, I think he made his own bed there. I know it wouldn't have been much of a movie had he followed the expert's advice in the beginning, but he had the solution to the problem from the start (at least in the context of the first movie... I know it's more complicated going into sequels)

I'm told most of the upper floor of the Castle are haunted, supposedly. The one I remember hearing specifically about when I was growing up was known as THE Tower Room. It was famous because in the 1800's there was this astonishingly beautiful girl (about 23-24 years of age) locked up in the room due to psychotic problems. A friend of my dad's (a local attorney) rented the room and called my dad around 3:00 a.m. one morning begging my dad to come get him. He said he'd woken up and seen a beautiful blonde girl staring him in front of one of the windows looking out onto the front lawn and the nearby street. He pointed where she was standing to my dad and others, because when he saw her, he could see the street light through her body. She raced over to the bed and leaned over him, smiling at him with her face less than an inch from his...he screamed, leaped up, turned on his light on his bed table, and she disappeared.

You should watch Hell House LLC. There's a scene in the movie that so effectively captures scenarios like that it's probably one of the scariest scenes in any movie.

I remember I was watching this movie soon after it came out in the living room of the house we used to live in. We had our fair share of weird events going on inside the house, but we never really payed attention. Well, the night we were watching this movie we were all joking through the first half, but then suddenly the kitchen light went on for about 10 seconds and the went off again. My brother, sister, best friend and myself all went really quiet, you could've even heard the heartbeats, because of course we paused the movie. After a few minutes we resumed the movie but the environment inside the house was getting weird. I remember I had this eerie feeling that there was something else in the room. Someone said, almost whispering "I think we need to get some air" and all of us agreed like a chorus. So with no hesitation we all went outside and we all agreed that the air was getting hevier in the house. After about 45 minutes just joking about the whole situation, we gathered our strength and came back to watch the end of the movie. One of the reasons I consider this film one of the best in the genre. The next weekend, we were having drinks late at night with my brother, my aunt and my mom and a glass cup of whisky was flipped upside down and left like that in front of our eyes. It was amongst one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. My mom said "It's better to not pay attention" and that was the end of it, but we all remember that event. Great reaction btw!

I wish I could make a movie with my one-bedroom-apartment ass place. Horror should be easy to do, since space is usually not an issue with horror. Also, you NEED to see the sequels. They evolve how they use cameras in each story, all linked to the same plot. This one is a video camera, the next is home cameras around the home, then computer cameras are included. Eventually you'll even get an Xbox Kinect camera.

Too bad all the people who say they live in a haunted house never call the local college for them to investigate and show evidence of this. It woukd fundementaly change science and our knowlege of how physics works. Making them probably the most famous person on the planet, making the millionaires if not billionaires.

ive live in multiple haunted houses in Funkstown MD. One was an old hospital during the civil war and I encountered multiple different things like one night I was just sitting on the couch and we had a rubber plant next to the couch and out of nowhere It sounds like somebody takes their hand through the plant, like Russels it so I get the fuck up and I’m trying to make logical sense of it so I go around and check all the windows there’s not a single window open check the fan fan wasn’t on, so I’m like OK I don’t know what it was but fuck it and I sit back down and literally the second I sit back down it happens again and I was gone. I look back for a second saw it moving I was out of there to my room and that whole night my door shook. every photo we took in that house had over a dozen or more orbs. So we ended up moving later on to a house literally down the block on the corner in front of a Civil War statue and I personally never saw anything there but I used to babysit my kid sisters and one was around two or three, and every time I would be there with her alone, she would out of nowhere start staring up into the corner of the room and I would ask her what’s wrong and all she would ever say is “he told me not to tell, he told me not to tell” the shit was bone chilling, and I finally got her to tell me what it looked like. She just said it was a very, very tall, dark figure that were a black hat and had no face and that’s not even the worst part of it one of the final nights we were there is when she comes screaming up the steps I mean a bloodcurdling scream, and is yelling and crying saying she was hearing noises coming from the basement so she opened the door, and when she did, she saw a black man in chains, climbing up the stairs, yelling and screaming

When I was a sophomore in high school we moved to a historic home built in 1908. The house was the first house built in this part of town. Anyways back to the ghosts the first paranormal experience I had in this house was the night of Christmas Eve. I was the only one awake at like 2am when I heard someone walking down the steps. My room was on the 2nd story along with my parents and my brother lived on the first floor. I called out to whoever it was “Dad?…DADDD?!…MOMM???” even called for my brother and dog to no response. I didn’t think anything of it just figured it was one of my parents who didn’t hear me because they were tired. 5 minutes later BOOM BOOM BOOM SOMEONE CAME FULL ON SPRINTING UP THE STEPS! I yelled this time DAD??!! MOM?!!. Again no response. I sat on my bed frozen as I heard someone slowly pacing back and forth in the hallway and stop in front of my door. I say there for a second trying to muster up the courage to go look considering nobody was answering me as I was calling out names the entire time this was happening. I told myself it’s cool it is just the dog go let him in. I get up and open the door NOBODY IS THERE AND NO DOG! So who the hell sprinted up the steps and paced the hallway and didn’t go back downstairs. I yelled out into the hall from my open door. No answer. Close my door and now I turned on all the lights in my room and the hall light. I try to get my mind off it and tell myself it was the dog and I just didn’t hear him walk away and back downstairs. Not even 10 minutes goes by and I hear the pacing back and forth in the hall but this time they were slow LOUD STOMPS! Again stopping right in front of my door but this time I could see a shadow from under my door since I left the hall light on. I know this is hard to believe and people usually think I’m full of it. But I swear on my grandparents grave this happened! I grabbed my pillow and left my tv and lights on and I rip open my door and I run fast as I can downstairs to my brother’s room. Didn’t see anything and my brother and dog were sound asleep on his bed. The craziest thing that happened though was again on another holiday…this time Easter Sunday. It was around 1-2pm I was in the upstairs bathroom fixing my hair because family was coming over for Easter dinner. My dad was at the opposite end of the hall from me in the little walk in closet they built. So the doors to both of these rooms face one another. My Dad walks out of the closet and asks does this shirt look ok with what I have on? I turned to look at him and we made eye contact for a second and then wooosh! This bright blue ball of light comes shooting down from the ceiling and disappears into the floor right between us! It was thee brightest bright and prettiest blue color I have ever seen and it left behind it a trail that looked like electricity. I asked did you just see that? He goes yeah don’t tell your mom! I thought maybe it was ball lightning but it didn’t look nor behave like ball lightning. Also I saw another bright blue ball of light in my downstairs hallway when I was back home from college one year. I was sitting on the couch and it just appeared and sat there floating for like 5-10 seconds and then disappeared. When it disappeared it looked like similar to how a bubble looks when it pops. How you can still sort of see the outline of it for a split second and then it’s just gone. Not sure what or who it was if it was a spirit at all. But one thing I do know is that it felt like it was something because the vibe just shifted when we would see this blue thing. In a good way it was like a calm happy comforting feeling. The stairs incident felt scary and anxious as hell. One thing to note is that we bought the house from a man whose wife was at home with a hospice nurse when she passed which I learned years later. So not sure if it her spirit or a relative or an Angel or alien or something residual or just some sort of scientific phenomenon.

But isn't that a good way to measure how effective a scary movie is? If it still manages to scare you when you have the lights on or you're watching during the day, then that's a damn good scary movie.

One question I always had was, did Oren Peli intend for me to hate the characters? Did he actually want me to cheer when the uber douch Micah, with his uber douchy face and name got hurled into the camera? A second question I always had was, did he even bother to watch The Blair Witch Project? Or did he watch it but was one of the dipsticks who just didnt get it? Either way, the result is the same, he made a movie which shows everything that can be done wrong in a found footage film. A film which left me rooting for the evil entity. And rolling my eyes at another Ouija board trope. Hey, people, its a fucking board game. It was patented that way like a hundred years ago. And if youre gonna take it so seriously, then maybe you should read the standard instructions found in the game box of every Hasbro game!
