Carci, thank you for being one of the best play-through guides. You don't rush through things, your commentary is always interesting and never histrionic or over-the-top vulgar, and you give time to give credit to the story of the game. I can easily see Carcinogen voicing a character in a sci-fi game where he is trying to keep you alive by navigating you through various dangers. I thought I knew everything about this incredible game and you've proven me wrong 😁. I hate that this game seems to get such negative feedback for not being a clone of the first game, I actually enjoyed the direction that was took, I always thought it played a lot like Dino crisis 2. I loved how much replayability you got with all the extra modes, my only fault with the game was the soundtrack, I wish there were more memorable tracks like the first game, however the final boss music was INCREDIBLE
@Disco4ia3 жыл бұрын
I do critique that the OST could have been better in some parts, the twists in the plot were not much of a twist at all, and the ending picture slideshows were pretty lame. My main gripe however, is the control mapping. Square to aim? R1 to shoot?? Yet even with the flaws the game DOES have a charm that makes me go back for more. Even though the enemies are finite, it still has plenty of grinding which i love. I don't really think combat was improved, but it was still good (controls aside). Also it gives incentive to replay because of harder modes. I'm currently replaying it after many many years.

Good to see people are still playing PE2. I might be in the minority here but I actually enjoyed the second game more than the first one. The atmosphere did it for me. Don't get me wrong, PE1 is still a very good game, but something about a secret research center in the middle of a desert speaks to me on a different level. The first time visiting Neo-Ark was a very strange experience for me. It's that combination of the entire knowledge about ANMC's and how they are used (like the alive generators for example, that was so bizarre and intriguing) with the soothing yet ominious choirs in the soundtrack makes this game special in my eyes. -Comment sponsored by Coca Co... wait what?

Oh boy... I missed PE2 no damage streams... I'll just leave some comments here instead. Since PE2 has been explored more thoroughly than PE1, this I'll be shorter. 5:40 Since this is a no damage run, not a max BP run, I understand why carci is leaving items behind. This will be my only commentary on that front with carci leaving a medicine 3 in this screen unless he misses an useful combat item. For anyone wanting to know were all items are, watch max BP runs and guides. 17:20 I'm with carci here, I actually keep Pyrokinesis at 2 for this reason regardless of which mode I'm playing. 20:35 *Smile* 23:35 One can run past them most of the time and get some back shots if one runs directly at and through them. It does take some guts and practice though. 35:45 If one unlocks the left door earlier then enters this encounter from that door, Aya will never take damage so long as one doesn't get too close, works even in Bounty/Nightmare. 52:00 *Bleeding eyes* he actually brought it... in my opinion, the worst weapon in the game... As for the turtle vest, it is indeed the best PE armor available until the very end of the game since increased MP recovery is more impactful than max MP. 1:06:55 Surprised carci didn't pick the buckshot in the dumpster, they are there until the very end of the game but unlimited sources of buckshot exist by then. 1:12:00 One can open the fence, kill the two chasers off screen with the M93R, let the fence close then reopen the gate to kill an extra chaser. This will reduce the number of chasers going into the fence box to 3. Chasers in this section also take double damage. 1:17:30 I dare anyone to do this room without a flare or routing, it is one of the hardest rooms in the game at higher difficulties. Mind Sucklers can and will basically stunlock Ada to dead if she gets to close. 1:28:50 But past carci, carci from even further ago had more time to go around the bats because the lights were off. 1:31:20 There quite a lot to crit rate, weakness, weapons and ammo properties in PE2 to the point that I'll just tell anyone reading this to search Vidik's Game/Battle Mechanics Guide on Gamefaqs. 1:37:30 A bit of a waste of since buckshot can hit multiple enemies and only take one or two per shot, but it is not a big deal. 1:54:40 It will be fine, Scavengers are a real pain but he has the P08 to range them down, enough EXP to revive and level Energy Shot and buckshot to knock them back if they get close *carci proceeds to run into danger* ...never mind... 1:58:50 Lone stalkers can also be stunlocked to death by standing still while single firing at them with multiple weapons, even the PO8 with the mag and 9mm parabellum work in nightmare. 2:02:15 A, the rifle is a fine... wait a clip holder? Seems kind of unnecessary but let's see were this goes. 2:09:30 It is, their weakness is getting hit while in the air. The timing window is fairly small, therefore it is best done with fully automatic weapons. This is one of those things to learn for scavenger since MP is tight. Countering scavengers, one after another, with a P08 is hard. 2:10:00 I'm sure carci will keep the target button pressed while using the right or left D-Pad buttons to get the chaser target then... *carci runs into danger and comes unscathed somehow* ... you almost got hit twice or thrice... 2:25:00 That was a plan, this room can get ugly without a flare or a good plan. 2:40:00 That was a perfect demonstration on how to win that battle, it is the premiere strat for scavenger and nightmare too. 2:40:30 Wait a second... *things through what flint does* you are right it doesn't influence the ending... You miss accesses to some really powerful gear for an armor with Resist Impact (read KH second chance) if you let him die, but the best HP armor (that also has Resist Impact) can be brought mid game anyway. 2:56:20 Close! Yea, chasers and mind sucklers are a deadly combination. I prefer to save my flares for these kind of chaser/mind shuckler encounters and just use positioning and Necrosis LV 2~3 on bats. For closing comments: carci uses Combustion the same way I use Necrosis, Energy Shot and Plasma LV 3 (in that order), non-stop. With some cheeky placement, maybe a wall and Necrosis/Plasma LV 3, one can 1~3 cast encounters with no damage guaranteed. Also, carci doesn't know how to walk past undetected to gain better positioning. It is working in these circumstances so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

It truly is incredible how none of the parasite eve games are logical story or gameplay continuations to each other. I think 2 is still good unlike 3 because it at least tries and for the most part succeeds at least gameplay wise but the only way the story makes sense is if you just accept the glowing eyes in the first ending didn't mean anything actually or that she didn't lose her powers in the second ending actually.

Currently watching this in hopes of me not tearing my hair out, because I can not, for the love of everything good in the world, wrap my head around tank controls. The controls are my biggest gripe with this game, but I want to replay it, since I haven't done so in ~20 years. Your guide might be the thing to help me do so without major frustration. PS: Now that I see this game again, I am astounded that it didn't gave me everlasting nightmares when I was a child and saw this. Jesus, the first cutscene of the woman transforming? How could seven-year-old me see this and still play it?

So how many of you realized that at 28:27 the code name "nagida" is just Kyle's name (Madigan) backwards?
