Ahh thanks for explaining. I remember reading the English version like a year ago and being surprised at why it cut off so abruptly. Thought it was just abandoned, didn't realize the English localization was taking a bit. Guess I'll wait for the final chapter to drop so I can re-read everything.

I'd recommend reading it. The manga is really similar to the anime but is set in the 80's instead and has some minor additions that I think make it better than the anime.
