Hi Gary a very good tutorial to come back with and I agree Paul a Galgoram is an excellent builder and his techniques for painting are nice and easy but very effective. Rather than using diluted acrylic, have you tried the Tamiya panel wash, it’s enamel based. It comes with a tiny applicator brush in the lid and it really is the best liquid for detailing the smallest of panel lines (no mixing required, straight from the bottle) you just need to touch it against a detail and it flows beautifully. It comes in black, light grey, light brown and dark brown. Over the years I have used diluted oil paint and diluted acrylic but once you have used the Tamiya panel line wash I doubt if you will ever use anything else.

Hi Peter - I was scared reckless to start with but using weathering powders you can clean them off they may leave a dusting but this can look good too.. Practice on an old wagon that has no meaning and your find they become your pride and joy. Really its about finding a technique that suits you.. if that helps.... Take care buddy.. Garry

Not feeling brave enough to weather my stock yet! You've given me lots of ideas though. I used to work in a well known retailer at a train station that had an old Redstar storage unit as it's warehouse. Not very convenient, when it was at the other end of the station to the shop and the only way there and back was across the front of the station building along one side of the carpark, with no end of public to plough into, uh, I mean, swerve your rollcages around! ;) Peace, dude!

Hi Cheekytek....how did you go putting the coupling hook on the end of your class 33 given all the buffer beam details? It looks on mine that a lot of the detail will have to be cut off to make enough room for the coupling hooks? Love your vids, glad to see you back!😎🇦🇺👍

Thanks Stephen.. On the class 33 I just gently removed the chain linkage using flat tweezers ( they pull out )and then cut a couple of the pipes to a short length so that detail is there but out of the way.. Hope this helps.. All the Best Garry

Hi Steve, Many thanks, the layout is 9x12 in size. The station side and country (Long sides) are 12 inches deep and 12 foot long. The main depot under the sign and door end are 16 inches deep and 7 foot long to fit the overall 9x12 hope this helps.. Cheers Garry

Think you know the answer lol.. but yeah wet matt varnish with weathering powders on top. gently Blow residue powders off...
