Can you transfer residency while you are receiving parental allowance? For example you were in Bayern before then you apply for elterngeld there? Then after few months you transfer on other region like Baden-Württemberg? Or should you apply again depending which region ur living?

My wife is working as a student that is 80 hrs per month. She is working in the company since 2 years as a student. Currently she is pregnant and we are expecting baby date on 2nd week of October. Actually, her contract ends on September. There may be also possiblity that they donot give further contract. Now, the question is , is she eligible for alternzeit? 1) You mentioned that Elterngeld Basic allowance can be extended to 14 months, under some special cases, one of which being that one parent earns less than the other - isn't that the case 99.999% of the time? maybe you meant *significantly* less? 2) While introducing DasElterngeld platform you mentioned that it's free to fill out the form and download it, but later you mention that it costs ~25 EUR. What am I missing? Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work!

1.) Yes, usually that is the case but not always, so I have to mention both. 2.) Filling the form and getting tips along the way is totally free. They charge you money when you want to download the filled form.

@@umme.issauzair4207 You will get Elterngeld, I think. If your 65% salary exceeds 300 euros. If that is the case, you will get that amount. Otherwise, you will get at least 300 Euros. This is my opinion. I could be wrong.

Hello Thank you for your very informative video. I just want to ask you if I am entitled to Elterngeld if my wife and kids are in the Philippines. I am already 5 years here in Germany as a nurse and I already have a permanent residence permit.She is not working because she is taking care of our 6-year old daughter and she is now pregnant with our twins.
