Parents, Co Pilot Your Gen Z

Dear Congregation Lion of Judah,
Imagine that your Gen Z is learning to drive. As a parent, you wouldn’t let them take the car out alone, would you? It would be dangerous not just for your child, but also for other drivers on the road. Our role as parents changes over time, and though Gen Z needs a different style of instruction, they still need as much of it as when they were little. In trying to provide more independence to our middle and high schoolers, we may sometimes neglect our role as co-pilots.
This advice for parents comes from Youth Pastor Wilson Santos, our guest on tomorrow night’s program as we discuss Gen Z between the ages of 12-18 years. Wilson talks specifics about his youth ministry and its programs built around community, modeling, conversations around deep questions, and getting outdoors. With over twenty years of experience working with youth in various settings, Wilson has in-depth knowledge of young people and what they need to thrive as humans and Christians.
