They both have demanding jobs and their children have never been taught to clean (parents are at fault here). They need to hire a cleaning service and they must declutter most of their things. The kids are old enough to manage their own possessions.

She works 12 hour shifts..sounds like nights. I did that for 16 years when mykids were very young. Left me chronically ill. Nurses must sleep…big mistakes happen when nurses do not sleep. The laundry is done. they homeschooled 6 kids during the pandemic while their mom worked extra shifts. Three kids in each bedroom…tiny bedrooms. There is no laziness here, but your post…judgmental and mean spirited.. reveals what an emotionally lazy person looks like. They seem to have one bathroom…for 8. Thekitchen is ok. these people are amazing. theyneed a clothes system and clothes storage. These are lovely helpful children. dadgum…I just cannot get over how meanspirited you are. When I was doing this, one child had cancer and we were in clinic about three days a week. the house was awful, but a few lovely friends came over every week and did. cleaning. I think it's interesting that the boy's room is so bad, yet the girl's isn't. Plus, that one little girl seemed to help out more than the other children. I wonder if a little bit of it is taught, or the parents were more on top of the girls than the boys. Obviously, a large part of the mess is the parent's busy schedules and having six children, but a small part of it is also the stigma of girls being "cleaner" than boys... That behavior is taught.
@probablynot1368
@probablynot1368 9 күн бұрын
The mother essentially gave the boys a ‘pass’, stating, “Boys are just generally stinky creatures.” Their father hasn’t chosen to model responsible care of one’s house and possessions. I wonder if he heavily relied upon his own mother to do his cleaning while growing up?

I still was able to keep my house spotless, cooked our meals, kept laundry done, ran errands, went to church, any shopping, kept up my family and done anything else that needed done. I did all this, my hubby done the outside, car, and fixing up. Our girls just went to school, done homework, and being kids. Therefore it can be done.

What a mess. There were 6 of us at home. Every child was involved in the household process. Whether it was my 2 brothers or my sister and I. We only played when the work was done. That only works if the parents maintain a strict regime and set rules that must be followed. My mother checked our children's rooms and our cupboards once a week. If there was a mess in them, she swept through the compartment with her arm and everything fell on the floor. We had 30 minutes to sort out the chaos. Our parents worked, were teacher and police officer.

That's why you shouldn't keep what you don't need and don't put work over yourself or family. I appreciate how well they love their kids. Nothing about that. But you can see how they struggle. They need more time for family and their home. Maybe one not working as much and actually cleaning the rooms and not just a bit of mountain of clothes,dirt and what not. I don't think it has to be like minimalistic but in a way to prevent overconsumption and having to do to much house chores. They really need to put up some rules and pull rooms apart. Not making a smooth transition from the kitchen to whatever and etc. So there is no way of making it look like they can throw trash etc. everywhere.

Did you not listen to her? She works 14 to 16 hours per day at her job, probably at least four days a week, so that alone doesn't leave her much time to do things at home. As well, the house is far too small for so many people, so it's nearly impossible to organize it without taking needed space from all the tiny living areas. The husband works from 6:30 a.m. until about 7 p.m., so he doesn't have much time, either. Who are you to judge whether she's "lazy," anyhow? You're a hideously mean person for passing judgment on someone who clearly works hard as a nurse, but still at least manages to feed, house, and clothe her children and husband properly!
