Sounds like the mom was so jealous of her daughter because she had to "give" up her dreams because she got pregnant. Not OPs fault. They just wanted to punish her. The dad was just as hateful. I dont know why they even made her move in with them. I hate these people. Hope OP goes NC forever.

i'd put more blame on the grandparents, OP's mom shouldn't have listened to them and ether aborted or gave the baby up for adoption, no one should be forced to raze a child they never wanted, as this kind of thing will happen almost every time.

Sounds about right to me. You have to understand this is a common thing among victims of abuse. We are told from childhood that everything is our fault, including the hostile actions of our abusers. We are even conditioned to just accept that we are to blame for just anything and everything our abusers don't like about anything if they say so. It is hard to get past that. I don't know if the story is true or not, but what you described about an abuse victim being unsure if they are really to blame (or maybe just asking because they need someone else to say they aren't) is pretty normal.

To be fair they seem to have realized they made a mistake and were trying to make amends with how they supported her. The GP's are just as innocent as the parents in this story, if ur not gonna be prepared to adopt a child dont force ur kid to become a parent when they CLEARLY didt want a child, op wouldnt be born into this abusive house or at least adopted into a loving family if the GP's weren't so selfish. They'd rather let a child be abused to uphold their morals then to mind their damn business.

Considering how they had OP's back when they learned the truth (the father's side), and how (possibly) it was the grandfather who died instead (typo as opposed to the grandmother coming back to life). Unlike the parents, at least they realized that they screwed up and were trying to make amends and support OP, that alone makes them better than those abusive monsters. People make mistakes (some worse than others), that's a fact of life and that was clearly from a different time (and dated mentality), what matters is that you try and mend them where possible, which they seemed to do.

So I’m trying to figure something out here. When OP begins crocheting, she says her grandmother did it, but that she had passed. So there is only 1 grandmother remaining, who is relevant for most of the story. But around 17 minutes in, her paternal grandparents, plural, reached out. So we now know the grandmother throughout the story helping OP is maternal. Now we have a problem There is Grandma 1, maternal, who is helping OP with her business There is Grandma 2, unknown, who crocheted prior to the story And there is Grandma 3, Paternal, who reached out after the party. See the issue here?

It's because they hate OP's success. Usually, with these types of stories, the toxic family would scoff at the OP's passions or career until the OP started making real money off of it. Then the toxic family would try to get the piece of the pie. But here, when this OP start becoming successful, the parents are enraged that the hobby that they looked down on is benefiting OP, and that OP is able to make something of themself. They just don't want her to succeed in anyway out of a crab-bucket mentality.

What a fantastic ghost story!!! She discovered she had a real talent for "crocheting" when she was 15 but, sadly, her grandmother had already passed away by that time. BUT, when her crocheting business takes off (because of course she's doing like in a Disney movie and now is the Elon Musk of crocheting) the grandmother is magically no longer dead, she reappears on the scene to suggest that she open a savings account for college. LMAO, you must be a hollywood writer... BTW, "crocheting" is not a word.

The only thing we ask her to do is to be safe. We give her advice. The advice we give is a warning about her safety, and there are people in this world that will take advantage of her. They didn't sign up for? They had a sexual relationship. The risk of pregnancy is a part of that. Sorry, this is reality. I know it was the last thing on their mind. It's like driving a car. There's a risk of death while driving a car. It's not the first thing on people's minds, but it's a reality. The parents could have done many things to mitigate the risk, but they didn't. They could have given custody or had the grandparents adopt the child. It isn't about age either. There are young parents that actually take responsibility for what happened. That's why it's not about age, but mindset.

It's not a bad thing but to OP's parents, it was seen as a threat to their role as parents. They were the breadwinners of the family and her setting out on her own and accomplishing her dreams was kinda like rubbing it in their faces. It's a craft that some people can appreciate, but there are also those who would rather go for cheap than handcrafted. Most projects barely make the money used to buy the item and time spent on the project. I mean, I just finished making a 70in x 70in granny square blanket and spent probably around $50 just on the yarn and nearly 60 hours on it. Not very many people are going to be willing to pay $100 for that. But I usually don't make such big projects but more little ones like dolls and other amigurumis (stuffed animals/figures like plushies). Honestly the grandparents are the assholes. The parents suck too but the grandparents were the ones that ensured this kid's life will be miserable by forcing the parents to keep her in the first place and forcing them into this life they didn't want. All of OP's suffering boils down to the grandparents being controlling and straight up hating their kids and ruining their lives and by extension causing their grandbaby to suffer.

Too bad OP could file for emancipation, for limited purpose, and move back in with the grandparents.

But why didn't they call CPS for her parents actions and abusements towards her btw???..I am not an American, not a resident either but little did know like they have Child Protection Service like the one we have in our country for the welfare of the children under the age of 18 , right??🤨

the mom and dad handled thier child SO terribly, its so pathetic they say that op is an ungrateful daughter and are demanding credit from op's success.their entitled, shitty parenting ass dont deserve respect.and this is from an pretty forgiving person.if you blame me for something i didnt do,which these parents are doing(they are treating their daughter like shit for no reason),hence my unforgivingness.also how is it op's fault that the mom got pregnant.

They also forced their daughter to "be an adult" and raise the kid she didnt want. It sounds like they have very strong views of what adults should want in their life and want to force their daughter and her husband into those ideals.

Seems like ops parents didnt want to see their child they never wanted growing and becoming her own petson and able to live a life they couldnt because of their unplanned pregnancy. They want their kid to suffer because in their small heads they suffered. They see op as an object. Theres no love.

It's AI generated, the word structuring, repeating sentences that it seems may be important, like dad not being in life. Doing a full 180 and saying that dead grandma comes alive. Success comes too easily. Logically stupid events just to trouble the life of the protagonist.
