Noah ran a PB to win 100m gold. Tebogo ran a PB to win 200m gold. Tebogo has been tracking Noel in the 200m all season and one mistake would have been expensive. I think we can all agree that, outside of showmanship, Noah is the superior athlete. Tebogo in my estimation is yet to realize his full potential and it was easy to celebrate with his results at the Olympics, especially the copping the gold in what appears to be his favorite event, the 200m. Tebogo's range is also notable as he supported the 4x400 achievement.

I must say , as a Barbadian - American , I have always been objective about my favorite athletes who tend to be West Indian , American or African. I have to say given the way he jumped out in front of everyone before the race , hopping around , and then pretended that He couldn’t get off the track after he lost in the 200 , I would be furious if I was Tebogo . I may have said something worse . I like both athletes and I honestly do not find either one of them to be very humble. Most sprinters are not humble. However , all I see is excuses and discrediting of Tebogo’s win and that isn’t right. Tebogo ran in the 19.4 s during this race . Noah very well could have lost this race under any circumstances with a guy running a time like that. The trash talk he gave before the race combined with the excuses he and the American media are using to discredit a phenomenal performance by Tebogo is just wrong. Yes Lyles had COVID and yes he is an asthmatic. However he could have made it off the track. The display was for public consumption and from the Botswanan perspective , I would be pissed .

I was rooting for team USA regardless of who the runner was! One thing about bragging, you have to back it up. If Noah tested positive for Covid on Tuesday, that means he had Covid "before" Tuesday. Last Sunday, Noah won the Gold on his photo finish 100 meter finals race. After that race, Noah jogged around the track with the American Flag celebrating his win.......as he should have. No collapse, no struggling to breath, no medical team needed, and no wheelchair needed. Tuesday, before the 200 meter finals, Noah came out with high energy like he always does but when he finished the race in 3rd, he suddenly became a medical emergency. I have one question: Do you think if Noah won the Gold in the 200 meter finals, he would have exhibited the same behavior in a win as he did in his loss? CONGRATULATIONS TO Tebogo! Awesome win...well deserved gold medal!!!

Hello Nigeria, A Kenyan here. We all expected (Africans) a medal from your 100m hurdles girl, Tobi Amusan. It's sad that she didn't make the final. Things happen though. Such is life. What I cannot forgive, is the fiasco surrounding Favour Ofili! AS a Kenyan, I've been following Favour Ofili since she competed in the world U20 championships in Nairobi a few years ago (2021). That is when we got to know her. The fact that she was omitted from the 100m start list is itself a tragedy. Someone didn't do his/her job at the NIgerian Athletics Federation (whatever you people call it). HE/She had only one job...........and he/she blew it! That should be it! He/she needs to be banished not just from the sport but from your land. This was the best training ground (the Olympics) and who knows whether she'll even be healthy in LA 2028? Someone killed her dream over lethargy. We also have another great athlete Gina BASs from The Gambia now that Marie Jose Talou is getting up there in age. AFrica will still shine but Nigeria, you need to get your act together. IF such a thing happened in KEnya, there'd be hell to pay. It just can't happen. NO WAY! I am not a big fan of Noah Lyles, but I love athletes who exudes confidence- call it what you wish, but as an elite athlete you have to motivate your self how you can. The media will always pick up on athletes with the fire in the gut to show case them because it is good for bringing eyes to the sport. The talkative ones, the confident ones, are always the one the media hypes the most. Love ho or hate him Noah Lyles is the man for the job at the moment. He is the one to help bring attention to the sport. The attention he brings will turn into dollars for even for athletes who are bottom feeders. My last point; there has been some great moments in this Paris Olympics that is much more outstanding than Lyles accomplishment, like Duplantis, Hassan, Kipyegon, Mijain López Núñez and I can go on; but nobody is talking about them. The fainting Infront of cameras reminds me of my ex who used to come home empty handed while the children expected at least bread then he would pretend to be asleep immediately he got in so the kids wouldn't ask him anything.
