Congratulations for the medal, that's a huge result. I'm french and youtube has been recommending me this vlog for a week now so I finally decided to watch it and I'm so glad I did. It's a pleasure to see foreigners enjoying our food, our history, our architecture and our culture, I hope you felt welcomed and supported as all the rugby family should be everywhere. I've been living outside of france for 9 years now and it felt really nice to see my country through your eyes, well done again for the result, I'm sure it was worth all the hard work and the sacrifices.

I was at the stadium for all the 7s game, and you girls smashed it out of the park (suck it Aussies haha 😂), played amazingly well with great pace and crazy intensiveness in the rucks and should feel so so proud yourselves for what you have accomplished this summer in Paris! Was the first time ever for me watching Rugby and it was so much fun , I dont really understand everything (like when they go in a huddle and throw the ball in for example, no idea what made that happen haha), but it was so exciting and fun to watch. Their cardio must be unreal. Must have been awesome actually been there in person.

@@SuperYxskaft their athleticism is god like…. Sure it’s only 7v7 with 2 7-minute long halves but they’re playing on (pretty much) the same pitch as rugby 15 or 13!!!! In the summer heat as well!!!! The shift you need to put in is immense! Super happy that this sport is getting some good rep at these Olympics, especially for women! Hopefully as Ilona said on TV and her socials, team USA will put more funds in the team/sport infrastructure

You are absolutely amazing and very inspirational. I am not sure I have ever (in my 50yrs) rooted for an athlete to win GOLD as much as I am rooting for you. You are such am example of what it means to be a competitor in our modern world. Even through all the lenses you seem so genuine, sincere and authentic. I am raising twin boys, both athletes, and I can only hope they are as driving and conscientious as you are. You are not only an ambassador fir rugby, for women, but for athletes in general. My best friend Sylvia played rugby at UC Santa Cruz (I was too chicken; I played soccer) and my French cousins were rugby players in the 80's. As British Black guy who spent youth till college being chased by Rugby coaches to play Rugby instead of Soccer, because I was a bit of an athletic freak with size, power and speed, but always loved watching the sport. I was strangely proud of you and the team for getting the bronze. This was a moon landing, miracle on ice level sporting achievement for the USA sport. I think your bronze is worth more than the 4 world cups the USWNT won, because everyone in the rest of the world knows the USA got a 54 year headstart on the rest of the world in soccer and had more funding due to title 9, when the rest of the world didn’t care or fund female soccer until the last 5 years, so they should have dominated as the only semi-pro team in an amateur sport. But you rugby girl yanks had none of that advantage and were playing teams who had an 100 year headstart and had more funding and you guys still got 3rd in the Olympics. That is an unbelievable achievement. Be proud of yourselves and Ms Maher stay sexy, intelligent, good humoured, powerful and skilled. ❤

I JUST became aware of you from a @TankTolman video because as I'm sure you're WELL aware, rugby's not a big thing here, especially in the south, but HOLY CRAP, you are an absolute BEAST on the field... 5'10, 200, runs the 100 in 11.6 stiff arming defenses left and right, in a sport that doesn't get anywhere NEAR the support or funding as American Football... AND you also seem to be an awesome person with a level head.... As a HUGE NCAA football fan (Go Dawgs!!!!)
