@John Barosa God no. Don't fall for her BS. She just doesn't like it when the fire she helped to start ends up burning her friends. She's only pissed because the far left has started to eat itself. That's the absolutism she's talking about. She went back to attacking republicans and conservatives almost immediately.

Ive learned alot through life, the only party i ever associated with is my Mother's Birthday Party. Me and my 3 siblings fight alot, last year we all didn't talk or check on each other, but last month, we all gather together, fixed our differences and get back to family. Cuz in the end. We might different in beliefs, political party or ideas, etc. We only have *one family* to go back too.

Have you ever considered maybe you're projecting how YOU feel and how you've seen Democrats feel towards Republicans on Republicans? The good news is I found a politically active group that I do feel a part of. They/we welcome anyone with ideas who can speak about them with civility. We believe in finding solutions and getting things that are worth doing, done. You're here among us. You just have to realize it. Welcome to #WalkAway. Does not matter how much money you have, we are talking human beings. I mean she has been mocked by so many people. I do not know her, but I would think it kind of sucks when everyone builds a stereotype and starts making those jokes. And even if they even were true, people change and adapt to things. Although I agree one should understand jokes as being jokes and not take them as insults. But as you said, if Sarah would not have said these things, she would be entirely a different person, good thing she did apologize.

@@Belznis I just think Paris liked the attention good or bad. She's not an actress she's a talentless Kardashian type. And she did not do any of it for the money unlike the Kardashians. That being said, she is a human being and has feelings like us. It's perhaps easier to insult someone jokingly knowing their not in the room. Sarah may have taken it easier on her if she had known but she still would have nailed her.

Not being willing to listen to or implement good ideas just bc a person from the opposing party, or the opposing party, suggested it is exactly why I moved farther right. I wouldn't call myself a Conservative, bc I still have a majority of Left leaning views, but the utter reversal of the Dems as soon as Trump began running, even though some of his ideas were Liberal ideas that Dems espoused less than a year before, just bc it was Trump, or someone who supported him, saying it was an immediate turn off for me. And MANY others. What's funny and ironic is the Republicans are now the party more willing to compromise and work with someone across the aisle, and the Democrats, and especially Progressives, are now the rigid close minded ones. "My way or the highway" type. As well, we are fast becoming a nation of super thin skinned people and of bullies, at least on social media. People who have such low self esteem that what some stranger says utterly destroys them. And strangers who feel comfortable trying to destroy someone from the security of their anonymous keyboard. Whether a joke is in poor taste or just plain mean/bullying, what people used to do is very different from now. All you have to do is look at the rates of people in therapy or who take their own lives, and the rate of censorship now vs 20 yrs ago.

I think anti semitism stars (when it does) when there is something at stake, 2 people for a job interview were they do different tests, the jew gets the job the other will course out of the blue, that wont do if the other were a buddist or something else. Maybe is because the jews have always been here with the gentils until some 70 years ago, having the buddist around or something else is new so there is no a historical baggage. The good question is, What makes some to like the jews? Is it how they are raised?; Other thing to think about is about anti semitism in France that ocurrs on the street, Is it the (political, social) times we are living?
@carolyntalbot947

I had a really hard time understanding anti-Semetism (where it came from, what was behind it) before watching this video from Philosophy Tube: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXKpk6ONi7Rgpdk It is the oldest form of bigotry second to misogyny and still very prevalent, even as Sarah points out, among those who consider themselves "woke" (in that they aren't always aware of how much it still persists.) Everyone should see this, and actively fight against this scourge on our collective culture.

Jewish identity is complex as an ethnicity; the idea of a covenant partially defining an ethnicity, over thousands of years through different migrations, doesn't help either. Religious tension and divide, seems to be addressed within its own social structure and cultural commentary; even a relevant lack of religious practice. It's not rooted in a conversation about racism that people are used to having. Institutional racism for jews in north America, kinda went the way of the Irish. I think there was a "justifiable need" for jewish communities to accommodate or build around the experiences that were coming out 1940s Europe. People carry stresses of past generations as a way to validate concerns their family may have had. I don't think there is a debate about a sub culture within hate groups that primarily target jews (which is scary on its own)… I doubt that has anything to do with the publishing of Mein Kampf, Martin Luther's book written in 1543, or the merchant of Venice... thou people generally don't give a fuck who is buying their books. Ethnicity is a way to contextualize your environment, but ultimately it's the environment that contextualizes ethnicity over generations. As a categorical minority, its one that is typically defined by majorities. Not including all the crazy shit that goes on in the world; I know there are many highly populated countries that omit the holocaust in their history classes.... also the Israeli government. Any inconsistencies In either consideration of an identity; I would attribute to people, rather than "a people", and segments rather than a culture. That said, I think there are some cultural commentators like Bari Weiss, that present the arguments in a " 'style' of radical feminism." I think those instances earn their eye rolls and obscure productive conversations.

I can't lie..I'm conflicted. I want to believe this is sincere but I'm not the one that was offered the olive branch. I can say that were I the recipient, I might have reservations with accepting it with a tongue-in-cheek dig on what I should seek recompense for...But, I'm Jewish - We do it without realizing; doesn't make it right. I mean, 2007 wasn't so long ago. We all knew better, it was just easy - Low effort, high reward. I genuinely felt horrible for her and I couldn't stand the public persona that she presented. That camera cut right through the vapid character she played and captured actual pain. I thought the same thing about her that I thought about you though; "They've been through some shit." I watched "I Smile Back" a few months ago, and I really felt it. I don't think you could have played that part with so much visceral authenticity if you didn't have a frame of reference. I am truly grateful for that. I do see growth, which is probably why I feel conflicted. You are right though; you weren't the only one and it was happening long before 2007. We tend to focus on that public figure and not the perception that the punchline shapes. The most poignant example that comes to mind was the Menendez trial and subsequent skit on SNL. People living under the conditions that the Menendez brothers testified to realized that if the Menendez brothers could be publicly discredited and mocked with witness testimony, they didn't stand a chance. There are a lot of people that need to stand in front of that wagon. Regardless of critique, I think highly of the gesture and vulnerability that it takes to speak to this issue as candidly as you have. I would much rather see artists reflect on past behavior and claim ownership without losing their livelihood

That silly generic joke? It wasn’t personal it’s just stupid. Woke insanity is spreading to silly jokes making comedians apologize. 😖

Your jokes were cruel and shameful... bringing up Spears kids was beyond disgusting and an apology doesn't heal the past or how we made someone feel.

i think you're a little too late on the fact that you literally pushed out someone who could've fixed it and labeled him to be a dictator, and voted in someone with your influence who is actually very controlling and a racist. it's really ironic and hilarious
