This whole song is heartbreaking but for some reason the line "the com link's open but there's no one" just always gets me. Like, the people the narrator loved did all they could to save her life because they loved her too, when all she wants is to see them again

I adore this song. It's so heartbreaking and beautiful, it *feels* like a space song. The final line's change in delivery is so sad.

Another title for the 'Sad space tunes' playlist... the playlist specifically for my novel. We love ending at the protagonist being condemned to an existence of eternal solitude upon the empty halls of their spacecraft. Different circumstances from this song... but, inspiration✨

I literally have an OC who was forced to leave his dying home planet because he was the only one with all the knowledge of his people's culture. His people knew if anyone could re-establish their culture and people somewhere else, it was him. But he refused to leave and so they had to sedate him, program the ship, and send him off with his two brothers while the planet went up in flames. He found a new place where they were happily accepted, but he missed his home. He missed his people. He missed his gods and their temples, but human colonization destroyed it all.

this song really feels like the consequences of climate change being left for too long and the billionaires plans to just ships everyone to mars instead of giving up oil money and helping the planet we're on right now, like our home is worth nothing.

No cause why has no one else linked to this Laika??? The first living creature in space and they never planned to bring her home and she burned in the atmosphere. If this song isn’t about her then I’m making it about it her because it fits so well 🐕 🫂😭😭😭😭😭

Because It doesn't make sense in this song. It is Escape Pod, and the why did I deserve to live quote clearly implies she's saved, and the others don't. The absolute oposite of the situation you describe

@@Gabi24492 Art is subjective. I'm not the only one to think its about Laika. And even if it isn't, it's just my thoughts, it isn't hurting anyone.

I was reminded of Princess Leia. Her entire home planet was destroyed and she never gets to grieve. The narrative instead makes her comfort Luke who lost Obi-Wan to Darth Vader.
