So happy you got such a great time in Paris . Years ago I was living close to Moulin Rouge ( rue Lepic ) . I love Montmarte's atmosphere . Now I live in Le Marais ( the 3rd district ) close to Beaubourg and la Catédrale de Notre Dame . It feels so good to see Paris from " your lens " like crossing the bridges etc .

I must admit if I see certain designer bags I kind of assume they're fake. Saw a Dior book tote & a Chanel bag on a Ryanair (low cost airline) flight recently & assumed it was fake. If you have Chanel, would you fly low cost airline? I don't know!

Just watched a nerdy doco about the economics of luxury, there's even a phrase for when an item is more highly priced it becomes more desirable...The 'Giffen goods theory' is one for which observed quantity demanded rises as price rises. So the price increases have little effect except perhaps on the 27% who are starting to feel the pinch. Plus the preloved market is having the stuffing knocked out of it right now except for the very few labels, you know the ones..Hermès, Chanel etc. It's a heady world that one!

I went to the Moulin Rouge in 1978 when I was 19 with my girlfriend and, gulp, my father! (It sounds like not much has changed!) My friend & I went back to our teeny hotel room afterwards and paraded around in our underwear, pretending to be dancers! Oh, how I wish I had photos!
