Parker 1001 New Custom Scales New Edge Shave Test Traditional Wet Shaving

Hello Guys,
I put some new scales on one of my favourite straight razors, made by Parker Razor Co Ltd in Tokyo Japan. The steel is about the best a razor can ever be made from and the grind and profile are just sublime to me..
I got this razor from a collector and it had a Jnat edge on it but it's now got my Lv5 Jnat edge on it and it definitely shaves just a touch better, past edge had multiple shaves on it.
Shaves in the top tier category and ploughed through 7 days growth.

Cheers Jacques it's one of my most favourite razors and now it's got some lovely scales on it, the scales that were on it did not do the razor justice. The edge on the Helji is top notch all the way from a gent in Eskilstuna. And you fella be well..

Gorgeous scales on your Parker ❤, that wedge is fabulous 👌. Interesting hardness figures, frighteningly hard 1.2% carbon . I'm no expert on Japanese steel ( or their hundreds of named stones) . Bravo ! with your mention of the manly attributes of straight razors . Noisy Parker ! Always a sign of hard steel . Yes ! The Weather for us has been , and is appalling, I so agree 👍 💯 %. With that 7days of stubble you were looking like a Bulgarian hill bandit , or a horrid sports compare on TV. Well done, great shave and chat 👏.

Thanks Martin I really liked how they came out, complement the razor nicely i think. I can't find any hard facts about the 1.2% carbon but these are made from a variety of Swedish assab steel supposedly. All a bit vague though I must be honest. It really is good for the mind I feel and helps me for sure. I felt like your description a bit as well lol, nice to have a luxurious shave to get it all off. 👍

Awesome Shave as always, the weather here in the states been a lil wonky as well, C.O. Bigelow has Eupcalyptus smell it's pretty good, Have a great weekend

I like TOBS Peppermint. I have the Stirling Eucalyptus Mint and think I like TOBS scent better.

Hello Bill, Thanks for commenting.m, that's good to know as I'm struggling to find the sterling version but i can get the TOBS soaps easy enough. I did actually buy a mint scented soap and I'll do a little review of it when I get it. Got a small bar from a UK based artisan soap maker to try also. 👍
