To be clear, there was A LOT of confusion with these T signs. My range finder showed different and will all of the recent backlash for pin placements being moved I was just confused!

My home course. I just started playing disc golf 3 years ago at the age of 55. Parker's pasture is not easy by any means but I became a pretty good player because of this course being challenging in every way. It's truly a beautiful layout and surprisingly right in the middle of downtown Covington, Georgia. Hole 12 should have gotten more attention. The approach of the short tee has an amazing view of the creek....that's not a river by any means. Woods on the left. Water on the right. Throwing downhill..... tight window. Put Parker's pasture on your disc golf travel list. Just 30 minutes away is the home course of the Robinson Brothers. Another great course.

Good advice for the wooded par 4s! Hit your gap, find the landing zone after you’ve played it once. More often than not people try to get cute trying to hit the optimal line. My home course Hobby Hill has some tricky par 4’s that kind of get in your head for trying to hit the perfect LZ. 9.2 is a hot score! Need to keep it in mind for a travel destination

1. UDisc did an analysis of Maple Hill, and found that the most popular layouts were the two shortest of the six commonly available. Remember that the greens fee is the same regardless of layout. People could play the same version used for the DGPT event, but pick the par-3 courses, instead. Many disc golf course designers don’t understand this dichotomy. I’ve heard of a lot of new courses being designed for the long distance throwers, but they should not expect them to be as trafficked. Parker’s course owner could have simply bought new baskets for installing B positions where the new basket locations are, but that would have cost more up front money than what they did. 2. If you’re going through Cincinnati on the way back to Michigan, consider playing Idlewild on the trip. It’s a free course in a public park, not that long by modern standards, and very technical.
@tossingplasticКүн бұрын
I agree! Short courses are always the most popular in a city from my experience! I will look into Idlewild!

So did you get any snow down where you are? I see Florida did but wasn't sure where all got hit. Gotta suck to be down south for the winter and have the winter follow you down. Lol. Stay warm!

I drove through that storm from florida to north Carolina. It was wild. I heard florida got up to 10 inches . They will have it for awhile. Pretty sure the whole state of ga pretty much got snow.

It feels dumb to say that a course rated in the top 5 is underrated, but I really believe Parkers still doesn't get enough love. Hole 3 is so iconic. I had heard they moved the baskets back to the OG layout in the last couple weeks. Was this filmed recently?
@tossingplastic2 күн бұрын
It was filmed about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Idk man I could not figure it out. Some numbers were not adding up or agreeing with my range finder. Idk what layout i played to be honest haha

Can the baskets never be moved back to their original positions ever??? I like when courses have multiple Pin locations. Then you can mix it up and keep it interesting. Maybe just Need some new signs to Update the situation
@tossingplasticКүн бұрын
Yea, I think locals do not like change! I love different pins but t signs showing both I think are needed with the change!
@mikebeireis3990Күн бұрын
If it ain't broke don't fix it! I love when a course not only has multiple pins but also a basket in each location. I also think it's cool to take a classic hole and lengthen it if even possible and make it truly one stroke more difficult! Options are cool

I play this course - and as an over 65 player, the new baskets are not to my liking. I agree with other folks. The views are outstanding though, and still a fun place to play. What I hope will happen is a few of these longer holes will be sprinkled into the OG layout.

Trash on the course is my biggest pet peave. I thought disc golfers were all hippy type people that cared about the environment? 🤷😂 It's hard to say if they would be mad or not if you drug them out or not.
